Swatch: Catrice LE Viennart - C04 ARTful Red

Weak Winter sunlight - Pallido sole invernale :-(

After my trip to the past (with the 2011 week) and the last Birthstone post, I'm coming back to the present, with a polish from the latest Catrice LE Viennart.

I fell in love with it from the press release images and bought it as soon as I saw it.

But the polish wasn't exactly like I expected...There were pretty golden micro flakes, but the shade was more marsala than red; the brown side of this polish came out especially under electric lighting, and I didn't like it that much.

Anyway the polish is opaque in two coats and despite the thick, bushy, Catrice brush (maybe I'm getting used to it) not difficult to apply.

Dopo un tuffo nel passato (con la settimana del 2011) e l'ultimo appuntamento con la Birthstone, ritorniamo al presente: lo smalto di oggi arriva direttamente dalla LE Viennart di Catrice; lo stavo puntando da quando è uscita la cartella stampa, ed è finito nel cestino della spesa appena l'ho trovato.

A dirla tutta però me lo aspettavo diverso, non come finish, perché i microflakes dorati sono molto carini anche sulle unghie, ma come colore. Pensavo fosse rosso, invece era marsala :-/.

Soprattutto con la luce artificiale il colore sembra più un marrone che un rosso...E la cosa non mi ha soddisfatta molto.

Smalto comunque perfettamente coprente in due passate, forse sto anche imparando a gestire il megapennello Catrice (carico, ma con mano leggera), perché la stesura non mi ha fatto imprecare come al solito.

Swatch: Catrice Feathered Fall Le - C02 Peacocktail

Today I'm showing you my second Catrice Feathered Fall polish: Peacocktail.

It's a shimmer with a dark base and teal-purple particles: it looks mostly green indoors or with electric lighting and shifts from dark green to eggplant purple and gunmetal grey. 

Two coats also for this swatch, the polish was a little less thick than Golden Plum-e and...No brush strokes this time!

Application was a breeze (again...I'm really happy about the classic "not too bushy" brush). 

I tried it also with a satin top coat (again, my beloved Essence Soft Touch - see last picture) on three nails: the top coat dulled the multichrome effect, but I must say I liked the "dark  greenish-grey velvet" look.

If you like dark polishes you can't miss it!

Oggi tocca al secondo smalto della LE Feathered Fall Catrice: Peacocktail.

E' uno shimmer con base scura e particelle (anche in questo caso di dimensioni rilevanti) di colore ottanio-viola: sembra verdissimo in interni/con luce artificiale e passa dal verde scuro al viola-melanzana al grigio, sempre scurissimo.

Due passate anche per questo swatch, lo smalto mi è sembrato un po' meno viscoso dell'altro (Golden Plum-e), anche per questo mi sono trovata benissimo con il pennello, dal taglio "classico": diritto e non molto largo. Tra l'altro su questo non restano i segni delle pennellate!

Provato con top coat satinato (sempre il mio amato Essence - ultima foto) su tre unghie: l'effetto multichrome mi pare si sia un po' spento, lasciando comunque un verde-grigio vellutato molto elegante.

Se vi piacciono i colori scurissimi (e particolari) è lo smalto perfetto!

Swatch: Catrice Feathered Fall Le - C01 Golden Plum-e

I didn't mind Catrice Feathered Fall press release when it came out, as I knew it wouldn't reach my country...Imagine my surprise when I stumbled on the (almost) full display at a Slovenian DM! Afterwards I read on FB that some girls found this limited edition also in a couple Italian stores :-O

I had to buy two of the three "standard" polishes (duochrome lure :-P), I skipped the third one (it reminded me too much of Color Club Metamorphosis), and the "feathery top coat", a sort of bar glitter topper. 

This post is just about the first one...I couldn't squeeze the absurd amount of pictures I took to them in a single post :-P

Non avevo fatto molto caso alla press release dell'edizione limitata Feathered Fall di Catrice, perché tanto non sarebbe arrivata in Italia.

Un po' mi dispiaceva, perché alcuni prodotti visti su blog stranieri mi sembravano carini. Trovarmela davanti al DM Sloveno è stata una sorpresa (più che altro trovarla con ancora qualche prodotto dentro, il display al Müller, duecento metri più in là, era già stato saccheggiato)...E a quanto pare ci sono stati avvistamenti anche in Italia!

Ovviamente ho preso due degli smalti "normali" (quello verde no, mi sembrava un parente prossimo del Color Club Metamorphosis) e ho lasciato senza rimpianti nell'espositore anche il top coat "feathery" con i bar glitter.

"Affronterò" ;-) i due smalti in  post separati, visto che le foto saranno abbondanti!!

First of all, for this LE they picked a normal brush instead of the "cat's paw", I'm so happy about that!

Segnalo che fortunatamente per questa edizione hanno utilizzato un pennello normale (niente zampa di gatto), cosa che ho apprezzato tantissimo.

Let's start with Golden Plum-e: this polish has a noticeable shimmer, meaning that the particles are quite big and maybe more "microflakes" than shimmer: it shifts from pinkish-plum to bronze and light olive green.

Two coats in my pictures; I found it rather thick and as you can see the brush strokes remain quite evident.

To attenuate them I tried also to matte it with my old satin top coat from Essence (pictures at the bottom of the post): it sort of dulled the shade, but the surface looked much better.

Not bad after all, but not a polish to die for.

Iniziamo con  Golden Plum-e: lo smalto ha uno shimmer molto evidente (come dimensioni, lo definirei quasi un microflakes), è abbastanza viscoso e passa da un prugna-rosa al bronzo e al verde oliva chiaro.

Due passate nelle mie foto, purtoppo i segni delle pennellate restano visibili; per cercare di ovviare al problema ho provato a renderlo satinato con il vecchio top coat Essence, foto in fondo al post (il risultato non mi è dispiaciuto, forse smorza il colore, ma la superficie migliora parecchio)!

Tutto sommato smalto non male, ma niente per cui perdere la testa.

Catrice Limited Edition “VIENNART” [press release]

I usually don't post Catrice press releases (also because their products are not so easy to find in my area, unless I go to a certain mall...or cross the border and go shopping in Slovenia), but I really liked the packaging of these ones and I wanted to share at least the pics (products info just in English).

I'll add links to swatches as soon as I find them (this limited edition should be released around mid November - countries listed below).

So che di solito non pubblico le cartelle stampa della Catrice (anche perché da me si trovano con difficoltà, solo nel negozio Scarpe&Scarpe di un centro commerciale non vicinissimo, oppure sconfinando in Slovenia)...

Discontinued Day: Catrice C02 Floralilac - LE Eve In Bloom [swatch]

  

For today's "discontinued day" post I didn't pick a dusty polish from the vault, but a quite new one, from a limited edition from Catrice. Moreover this collection (Eve in Bloom) wasn't even released in Italy: I bought the polish in Slovenia (in the wonderful Müller located in Koper Supernova), on the way back from my Croatian holidays last September.

Actually I wanted to buy something from this LE and picked the shade I liked the most: a purple shimmer. Two thick coats for this swatch, as it's not very pigmented...I've been wearing it since yesterday afternoon and I've already got serious tipwear.

Here is the problem (for me) with limited editions: the feeling "buy me now or renounce to me forever" sometimes makes me buy also polishes I don't "really need" :( I have to say that Floralilac is a nice polish, but not outstanding.

Il protagonista di oggi non è uno di quelli usciti di scena per sopraggiunti limiti di età, ma rientra nella categoria degli "ora o mai più".

Si tratta infatti di uno smalto appartenente all'edizione limitata "Eve In Bloom" di Catrice.

Aggiungo che questa collezione in Italia non è apparsa nemmeno: lo smalto infatti è stato comprato in Slovenia (nel bellissimo Müller di Capodistria *___*), tornando dalle ferie lo scorso settembre.

Diciamo che tra tutti gli smalti è stato l'unico che mi ha "chiamata", mi è difficile (nonostante ne abbia un tot) resistere a un viola-ciclamino shimmer...E a una limited edition (il potere oscuro del "comprami ora o rinuncia a me per sempre").

Due passate sostanziose nelle foto, lo smalto è carino, ma un po' leggero (dopo un giorno non vi dico in che stato sono le punte, sbiadite del tutto). A dirla tutta...Mi sa che avrei potuto anche lasciarlo dove stava!

Swatch: Catrice 34 Squeeze Me

I've been trying to post about this recent Catrice for a while (as suggested me on IG) but destiny was not by my side! The first time I tried it...It rained (at least I could use it as a base for my Safari stamping).

Then I tried it again, managed to take decent sunlight pictures, but then lost my notes (I think I deleted them by accident), so I have to rely on memory to comment it...Not very professional, I know, but I'm afraid that waiting for a third time might end with the polish being in the discontinued section :-P

Anyway Squeeze Me is one of those dark colors I usually like (although it's more of a Winter-Fall shade): a dark grey-green with olive shimmer. It's quite pigmented, in the "without bottle" picture you can see the result after the first coat.

And here the mystery thickens, as in "with bottle" swatches you can see that index and middle nails are perfectly opaque (two coats) whereas ring and pinkie are not that dark. Knowing me I think I decided to let them just with one coat, to let you know the difference (obviously I prefer the two-coats nails).

Last but not least, it seems that they changed again the brush: still thick and wide, but not rounded. I'm eager to try the other Catrice I bought last April, to check if the brush has changed for good or this one was an exception.

E' da un po' che volevo pubblicare uno dei miei ultimi Catrice (come suggeritomi su Instagram), ma il destino sembra essere avverso...

La prima volta che ho provato questo smalto è venuta la pioggia. Pace, almeno l'ho usato come base per lo stamping Safari.

La seconda volta sono riuscita a fare le foto...Ma ho perso gli appunti :-/ (probabilmente cancellati per errore in un momento di "ripuliamo il pc"), quindi andrò a memoria. Poco pròfescional, lo so, ma se aspetto di riuscire a provarlo per la terza volta...Ve lo trovate nei discontinued :-P

Allora questo Squeeze Me è uno di quei colori scuri con shimmerino particolare che piacciono a me (anche se non è decisamente un colore estivo), di base potrei definirlo un verde-grigio-bluastro, con shimmer verde oliva. Decisamente pigmentato, nella foto senza boccetta vedete il risultato dopo la prima passata.

E qui viene il bello, perché nelle foto con boccetta si nota come indice e medio siano sicuramente da "due passate" mentre le altre due unghie sembrano un po' meno scure. Conoscendomi probabilmente era mia intenzione fare un confronto due passate - una passata (sull'unghia del mignolo si nota meno, essendo più piccola). Ovviamente io preferisco la versione da due passate, con il colore più intenso.

Ultima nota: il pennello pare -ancora- cambiato, sempre largo e spesso ma non più tondeggiante a zampa di gatto. Aspetto di provare anche gli altri presi ad aprile per vedere se questo era frutto del caso o son tutti così!
