Swatch: Basic Beauty (Limoni) 45PE

Last Wednesday I posted a quite old "green wheel" of mine, and I realized that I still had to show you a 2012 swatch.

My bad!!

This is the missing polish, the now discontinued 45PE from Basic Beauty (this brand first had been renamed B by Limoni, then was wiped out from Limoni shelves ç_ç); it's a light green-turquoise with light blue shimmer, three coats for my swatches.

Despite its lack of pigmentation/coverage it stained a lot: my nails remained green-yellow for a couple of days. What a pity, it was a nice shade :-/

Quando ho postato la terza ruota verde, mercoledì scorso, mi sono resa conto di non avervi ancora mostrato uno smalto swatchato quasi tre anni fa (!), il Basic Beauty (marchio diventato poi B by Limoni, poi purtroppo defunto): il 45PE.

E' un verde-turchese molto leggero con shimmer azzurri, nelle foto il risultato dopo tre mani.

Nonostante la “leggerezza” macchiò un casino: quel tipo di macchie che lasciano l'unghia verde giallo (orrendo) per un paio di giorni :-/

Peccato, non era male come colore.

Considering my inclination to collect similar shades, I compared it with Color Club Metamorphosis (2 coats on middle and pinkie), but the latter is more a "microglitter" than "shimmer" kind of polish, and it's greener.

Vista la mia tendenza a collezionare colori simili, ai tempi lo comparai con il Color Club Metamorphosis (2 mani su medio e mignolo), che però ha più microglitter che shimmer, ed è più verde (foto in fondo)

Swatch: Basic Beauty (Limoni) nr.102

Today's polish is a Basic Beauty “just number” polish. I couldn't find the reference on Limoni website, maybe because the new polishes are labelled “B by Limoni” whereas this one belongs to an old batch (2011). Anyway this 102 is really pretty, a metallic light green, almost foil-ish on nails.
Application was good, but after two coats nail line was still visible (picture w/o bottle) so I applied a third one for the final mani. Love it!

Non sono riuscita a trovare il nome dello smalto di oggi, nella cartella colori Limoni sul sito manca (forse perché è ancora etichettato Basic Beauty mentre ora i prodotti sono stati marchiati B by Limoni) quindi mi limiterò a chiarmarlo “102” .

Comunque è un meraviglioso (se amate questi colori) verde chiaro con particelle riflettenti, che gli danno un effetto metallico quasi foil. Applicazione buona ma lo smalto si è rivelato abbastanza leggero: dopo due mani (foto senza bottiglia) si vedeva ancora troppo la linea bianca dell'unghia e per il risultato finale ne ho date tre.

Ne valeva la pena comunque!

Il mio tris di post olografici è in lavorazione (uno è pronto ma il terzo smalto è sulle mie unghie in questo momento e -che sorpresa- è un verde!), nel frattempo un post veloce sul gradient contest a cui sto partecipando: è stato lanciato da Ruxi di Une Ruxi a Paris, le foto delle partecipanti le trovate qui e potete votare la vostra preferita (che sia la mia o meno)!

Per le curiose, ho usato questi smalti (tutti italiani, se facciamo finta di non leggere il "Made in France" del Deborah): tra l'altro il 103 non è stato una gran scelta, ha molte particelle dorate e per quanto spugnassi non riuscivo a fare le punte più scure (a quel punto ho aggiunto il Deborah).

Today I picked from my photographic database a Basic Beauty polish I bought last September (before these polishes were renamed B by Limoni); it's a greyish blue with pink shimmer, that unfortunately is not really visible on nails.

Application is easy, but after two coats it seemed still too sheer (see picture w/o bottle) so I applied another one.

I think it's not a very exciting shade, after all...Sometimes a wrong purchase happens!

Oggi vi mostro uno smalto Basic Beauty comprato lo scorso Settembre (quando ancora gli smalti non si chiamavano B by Limoni); è un azzurro grigio con shimmer rosa, che purtroppo non si notano molto sulle unghie. Si stende bene ma è abbastanza trasparente: dopo due mani (v. foto senza bottiglia) non ero ancora soddisfatta della coprenza e ne ho stesa un'altra.

Non mi è piaciuto particolarmente...Ogni tanto (!) mi capita anche un acquisto così.

Limoni, an Italian chain of cosmetics stores, launched last year their Basic Beauty line, with reasonably priced/high quality products (or at least these were their promulgated intentions).

I haven't been interested in their polishes until I heard positive comments on shades by fellow Italian bloggers, so finally a couple months ago I took the time to check their displays and...This is the third polish I've bought from this brand (and not the last, I think).
They cost € 3,99 in all Limoni stores (except a couple places where I spotted them at 4,99€).

I chose it because of all reflecting particles, already stunning in the bottle and luckily visible also on nails: base colour is a mauve pink, but according to position of hand you see a different effect, depending on what prevails: pink base or gold/bronze reflecting particles (in the bottle they look even green).
I couldn't stop taking pictures and staring at my hands, I really love this metallic finish.

Nice application, even if polish is a little bit sheer and I had to apply three coats.

BTW if you think you already saw something really similar here, you're right! I already made a small comparison but I would like to extend it, adding also a Zoya.

Saprete tutte che la catena di profumerie Limoni da qualche tempo (anno?) ha messo in vendita una propria linea di prodotti "base" con un prezzo accessibile, la Basic Beaut.

Ho schivato gli smalti per un bel po' (credo di aver visto i primi colori, e fossero molto "base") finché, istigata da alcune osservazioni delle "solite note" :-P mi sono decisa ad affrontare l'espositore.

Quello che vi mostro oggi in realtà è il terzo che ho comprato, e ne potrebbero seguire altri :-)

L'ho scelto per tutte quelle particelle riflettenti che si notano già nella bottiglia e fortunatamente si trasferiscono sull'unghia.

La base è un color rosa malva ma a seconda dell'angolazione con cui si guarda l'unghia l'effetto cambia, se a prevalere sono il rosa o le particelle bronzo/oro (nella bottiglia sembrano anche verdi) super riflettenti (non la finivo più di fotografarlo)!

Applicazione buona ma consistenza leggera, sono state necessarie tre mani. Comunque mi è piaciuto molto, la finitura quasi metallica è veramente stupenda.

Nota: se vi sembra uguale ad uno smalto di un'altra marca italiana...Diciamo che se non sono gemelli sono fratelli, ho già fatto una comparazione; però penso che ne rielaborerò una più estesa aggiungendo anche uno Zoya (per la gioia di chi ama i luccichii)!

Nota per le italiane: ho cercato questo colore nella cartella colori on line e non si trova, tra l'altro invece di Basic Beauty (come riportato sulla boccetta) pare che ora si chiamino B by Limoni

Nota aggiuntiva per le friulane: questi smalti si trovano in vendita in tutti i negozi Limoni a 3,99€, tranne che al CittàFiera di Martignacco, dove gli stessi colori (in prima fila anche un 115) in entrambi i negozi costano 4,99€. Mistero!

Wandering around the mall [haul] A spasso per il centro commerciale

Today I went to the mall, the biggest of my region (blah blah blah) just to check if new Essence Trend Editions and Colour&Go were out. Probably names of shops won't tell you anything so I'll keep it short and simple: no new Essences, just a Catrice display from last August, Modern Muse, from which I bought a polish (it's silly but I love the name: Khaki Perry). Anyway I think the polish will be part of permanent collection (at least according to their website).

Oggi sono stata al Città Fiera (il centro commerciale più grande della regione blablabla) solo per vedere gli aggiornamenti Essence.
In succo niente nuove LE e niente colori nuovi. In compenso mi sono fatta prendere la mano e ho fatto qualche acquistino (tenetevi forte): iniziamo con un negozio che oggi mi ha stupito, indovinate quale...

Ho preso uno smalto (della Modern Muse, vi allego anche la solita foto "chesperononmibecchino", non ho ancora capito se si può fotografare o meno), con un nome assurdo (ma mi fa ridere): Khaki Perry.

In the same shop I found the Revlon Expressionists display. I was quite tempted by Facets of Fuchsia, also because it's a good dupe for Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance (check this interesting comparison made by L from Bright Lights, Big Color). But I think I'll wait for a sale (today I already burnt my montly polish budget).

E dico che Coin mi ha stupito perché ho comprato uno smalto (da 2,79€, mica cosa...E la commessa mi ha dato un campioncino di profumo Flora by Gucci e uno di rossetto Deborah :-0). Ci tornerò più volentieri, anche perché c'è questo:

Ero tentatissima da quello viola (Facets of Fuchsia)  che sembra essere il dupe del Bad Romance di Deborah Lippmann, qui una comparazione di Bright Lights, Big Color. Ma ragazze, a 10,9€  non me la sono sentita (il prezzo è relativo, diciamo che preferirei aspettare una promozione e comunque oggi mi sono bruciata il budget di un mese, o più considerando anche il resto degli acquisti Essence degli ultimi giorni).

Nothing new at H&M, there were only Summer and Spring kits plus double polishes (one cap, two bottles) that never persuade me into buying them.

Then last store, where I bought a couple Basic Beauty polishes (very bright, the picture with electric lighning doesn't do them justice):

Altro giro, altra corsa: all'H&M niente di nuovo, i soliti kit Summer Nails e Spring Nails e quelli doppi (due smalti con un tappo in comune, che guardo ogni volta e non compro mai).

E infine un'altra profumeria "misteriosa", dove sono caduta come una pera su questi coloratissimi smalti (l'espositore era un tripudio di verdi e blu, ma stava proprio accanto alla cassa e non ce l'ho fatta a fotografarlo):

My official excuse is that every girl needs a special treat sometimes...

E infine, il motivo per cui sono entrata alla Limoni. In vetrina c'era LUI... 
Dentro non era esposto ma l'hanno estratto magicamente da uno dei cassettoni. Come facevo a non prenderlo?
La mia scusa ufficiale è che ogni tanto si ha bisogno di un auto-regalo speciale...
