I was really eager to try my brand new Florelle polishes, arrived here after a long journey: the first I chose is the lilac one from Easy Flò line, really pretty judging by the bottle.
I was afraid it was too sheer but after three coats it's sufficiently opaque; far from being a one coater, I know, but I have some pink shimmers that can't even cover nail line in four coats, so I'm satisfied with this one.

It's a warm lilac with hot pink shimmers, the pictures I took with electric lightning are more true to real life color, in the others it seems a little bit too cold/blue.
I really liked this polish (application was nice, too) so I'm quite sorry this brand isn't sold here in Italy right now. In case you find them in your country...Take a look at the displays!

Ero veramente curiosa di provare questi Florelle, arrivati da me facendo un lungo giro, e per primo ho scelto il lilla della linea Easy Flò.

Nella boccetta era bellissimo ma avevo paura fosse troppo trasparente, invece pur essendo leggero dopo tre mani si ha un risultato sufficientemente coprente. So che non sono poche ma le mie esperienze precedenti con certi rosa, con i quali dopo 4 mani si vede ancora la linea dell'unghia, non mi sembra male!

E' un lilla caldo con shimmer rosa carico, le foto venute meglio sono quelle con la luce artificiale, nelle altre è venuto un po' troppo tendente al blu.

Stesura ottima, mi è piaciuto veramente tantissimo (e mi dispiace da morire che questa marca italiana qui non si trovi, almeno per il momento)!

From Italy to Bahrain and back! [haul]

Last week my hubby (a.k.a. The Lacquer Hater Engineer) went to Bahrain. Every time he goes abroad, luckily not often,  I ask (or better beg) him to buy some lacquer for me, but usually he doesn't care about my international polish needs.

This time, maybe because he accidentally ended up in front of a local beauty store, he brought me four polishes!
I was really eager to see what he chose, also before buying them he called me, asking advices on colors; after trying to explain him hot to spot a duochrome, I gave up and said “purple, green, red, dark or whatever but not yellow and frost, please”.

The more curious thing is that three out of four are of a Florelle* brand I never heard of and “made in Italy”.

“Made in Italy”, in Bahrain? :-O

I think the fourth (B.O) is Chinese (in case someone can translate bottom label please let me know, thank you). EDIT: thanks to Ere Kanezawa now I know it's Korean!

After all he chose nice colors (he told me there weren't any green polishes), but most of all HE, the one that growls everytime I'm taking pictures to my hands or am in front of my laptop for a nail related thing, brought me polishes!

*I did some research and found Florelle is a Swiss brand with an Italian branch, I e-mailed them yesterday asking information about polishes and they already replied (!) that their products are B3Free and cruelty free, too. But they mainly sell to foreign market :-(
BTW do you ever find this brand in your local stores?

La scorsa settimana mio marito (l'ingegnere odia smalti) se n'è andato in trasferta nel Bahrein. Quando va all'estero, per fortuna non spesso, gli chiedo sempre (o meglio imploro) di portarmi qualche smalto ma mi va male ogni volta (diciamo che la ricerca di boccette non è tra le sue priorità).

Stavolta, forse perchè è passato per caso proprio davanti ad una profumeria locale, mi ha portato quattro smalti! Non vedevo l'ora di sapere cosa avesse scelto, anche perchè quando li ha trovati mi ha chiamato per avere indicazioni sui colori; dopo aver cercato di spiegargli come si individua un duochrome, ho lasciato perdere e mi sono limitata ad un più semplice “viola, verde, rosso, scuro o qualunque cosa che non sia gialla o perlata, grazie”.

La cosa buffa è che tre su quattro sono di una certa marca Florelle*, mai sentita e “made in Italy”. Made in Italy, in Bahrain?:-O

Dopotutto ha scelto dei colori carini (mi ha detto che di verdi non ce n'erano), ma la cosa migliore di questo haul è che proprio LUI, che protesta ogni volta che mi vede in giardino a fotografarmi le mani o “sprecare il tempo” sul blog, mi ha portato degli smalti!

*grazie a Google ho scoperto che è una marca svizzera con una sede in Italia, ieri ho mandato una mail per avere info sugli smalti e mi hanno risposto oggi (!): gli smalti sono privi di Toluene, Formaldeide e DBP, nonché cruelty free. Purtroppo distribuiscono prettamente all'estero, anche se hanno un agente a Genova.
