Essence Floral Grunge TE: 03 Grunge me tender! + 04 Madly Purpled [swatch]

As I already have too many "discontinued&untried" polishes (BTW don't miss the montly date with our dusty gems) this time I've tried to show you a couple polishes from a current Essence Trend Edition: Floral Grunge (here the press release post).

These are the shades I picked when I found the almost-full display (in Slovenia, a couple weeks ago): Grunge me tender! and Madly purpled.

Marginal note: bottles are similar to Catrice ones, but I was really happy to find out that brushes are not. They are flat and average width (no cat's paw).

Visto che di smalti "discontinued" intonsi ne ho già troppi (non perdetevi il nostro appuntamento mensile con i reperti archeologici), stavolta cerco di presentarvi qualcosa di una edizione limitata che non sia già sparita dalla circolazione :)

Così eccovi i due smalti della Floral Grunge (qui il post generale) che ho scelto quando mi sono trovata davanti all'espositore quasi pieno (in Slovenia un paio di settimane fa, nel frattempo dovrebbero essere apparsi anche da noi).

Nota a margine: le boccette sono simili a quelle Catrice, per fortuna il pennello no, è del tipo piatto e largo (niente zampa di gatto).

03 Grunge me tender! "The Suede"

My left hand is back...Nails still not as long as I wish, anyway.

A pale green with silver shimmer; despite being quite viscous (or rather pasty) it's not very opaque: after two coats there were still streaks and patches so I applied another thick coat (and a fourth one on my ring finger); the finish is slightly rough.

Considering the number of coats (and their thickness) I've been able ;-) to dent it while taking pictures, so I've been able to try the shiny version just on middle and ring nails.

E la mano sinistra ritorna a swatchare...Anche se le unghie non sono ancora lunghe come vorrei.

E' un verde molto pallido con shimmerini argento; nonostante sia abbastanza viscoso (forse "colloso" definisce meglio il tipo di consistenza) non copre tantissimo.

Dopo due mani era molto strisciato e alla fine ne ho date tre dense (e quattro sull'anulare). La finitura è leggermente ruvida, anche se non mi sentirei di chiamarlo proprio "suede".

Data la quantità di strati (ed il loro spessore) sono riuscita a segnarlo già facendo le foto, per cui ho potuto provare la versione lucida con top coat solo sulle due dita centrali.

04 Madly Purpled "The Matt"

 

A soft lilac-mauve with subtle shimmer, to me it looked more satin that mat/matte. Not very pigmented, I applied two coats for this first swatch, but then looking nails closely (especially the index) I realized another one should have been added.

So when I tried it again, to see how it looked with a shiny top coat, I applied three layers.

Un lilla malva spento con shimmerini delicati, più che matt/opaco lo definirei satinato. E' abbastanza leggero, nelle foto vedete il risultato dopo due mani. A guardarlo da vicino direi che avrei potuto aggiungerne ancora una.

Infatti quando l'ho riprovato, per farne la versione lucida, le passate di base sono state tre.
