NOTD: Essence Colour&Go 26 Break through

A nice cyclamen/violet creme, quite easy to apply (opaque in two coats), shiny and quite resistant. I love this summer color, it also matches perfectly my favourite H&M top!

Shade - Luce indiretta

Un creme viola ciclamino che si stende molto bene, perfetto in due mani (una sola  non basta), lucido e abbastanza resistente. Bellissimo per l'estate (e si abbina perfettamente al mio top H&M preferito).

Shimmery bottle under sunlight - Supershimmer sotto il sole

Another "nothing special" Emily polish: I bought it charmed by all the slightly golden shimmers floating in light rose (almost white) polish, but once applied it's really sheer. To obtain the pictured coverage I had to apply five coats on index and middle finger and four on ring and pinkie. Too much! In addition, the final result seemed me too "frost like" slash "old lady like" polish.

Never mind, I will recyle it for some franken...

Uno smalto Emily che non mi ha soddisfatto molto: l'ho comprato incantata da tutti gli shimmer  dorati che vedevo nello smalto rosa chiaro (quasi bianco), ma è super trasparente. Quello che si vede nelle foto postate è il risultato di cinque mani su indice e medio e quattro su anulare e mignolo. Troppo!! In più l'effetto finale secondo me è molto "smalto bianco perlato" da vecchia signora.

Vabbe', sicuramente lo userò per qualche franken!

My last polish from my first Zoya haul: Reece from Reverie Collection. I bought it because I wanted a "noticeable" duochrome and I haven't been disappointed: it's a rose polish full of golden-orange shimmer, the bottle is glowing! Application was really smooth, at first the brush seemed me too narrow and stiff  but it worked really well with this polish thickness.

First coat is almost opaque but still with VNL: with a second one the result is perfect.

I really love this polish: it makes me stop under sunlight just to watch my nails changing reflections as I move my hand :-). Did you ever do that, too?

Shade - Ombra

L'ultimo dei miei Zoya (per il momento, ma spero di potermene procurare altri): Reece dalla collezione Reverie. L'avevo ordinato assieme ad Adina perché volevo uno smalto con un effetto duochrome evidente e non sono stata delusa: è un rosa intenso pieno di shimmer oro-arancio. Si stende molto bene, il pennello all'inizio mi sembrava stretto e rigido ma va benissimo, perfetto per la densità dello smalto.

La prima mano è abbastanza coprente ma si vede ancora la linea dell'unghia, ancora una ed il risultato è superlativo. Bello, bello, di quelli che "ti fermi sotto il sole a guardare come cambiano le unghie inclinando la mano". E voi, lo fate mai?

NOTD: China Glaze Bermuda Breakaway

Another "blue" mani...CG Bermuda Breakaway, a gorgeous navy blue jelly (but sometimes classified as creme) from Bahama Blues collection (2008).

I love it, it's really beautiful and shiny (in my pics two coats, no top coat); as it has a light "texture" it doesnt' stain and it's easy to clean up (which is a good thing).

It has been difficult to catch this color, under direct sunlight it came out too "royal" so I had to use these two pics I took indoors/shade.

Continuo con le vecchie foto, restando in tema "blu".

Questo è bellissimo, un blu scuro jelly (anche se qualcuno lo classifica come creme) della collezione Bahama Blues (2008). Qui due strati, stupendo e lucidissimo (senza top coat)! Stesura tranquilla, data la consistenza leggera non macchia ed è facile sistemare le sbavature. Ho fatto fatica a fotografarlo, sotto il sole veniva troppo "azzurrato", queste sono state fatte all'interno/ombra per avere un colore più possibile verosimile.

As I broke my left index nail yesterday, I don't feel like swatching :-( At least I will finally post about some "old" manis I pictured in the last weeks! I took these pictures three weeks ago but I actually bought this polish in Berlin last April, before being aware of  bad Rimmel policy on animal testing, and I don't think I'll buy more polishes of this brand.

Anyway back to the swatches: I bought this polish because I thought it was purple; watching the bottle I just noticed all those purple shimmers and didn't read its name: "Blue me away". So I was surprised to discover, applying first coat, that this polish is actually a blue jelly-ish polish with purple shimmer (not a real jelly, let's say a weak creme). Unfortunately once applied (two coats in my pics, one only on pinkie) the shimmer is not much visible, so the polish appears mainly a navy blue.
PS: after removing it I noticed it stains, base coat is necessary.

Deceptive bottle! Bottiglia ingannevole!

Dato che ieri mi si è rotta l'unghia dell'indice destro (uffaaa finalmente erano lunghe abbastanza) non ho voglia di swatchare :-( Almeno posterò delle vecchie foto fatte settimane fa (queste sono dei primi di Luglio).

Questo smalto Rimmel l'avevo preso a Berlino in Aprile, prima di sapere che questa casa è una di quelle che continuano a fare test sugli animali. La cosa non mi piace e credo che non comprerò più altri smalti di questa marca.

Se vi interessa l'argomento, qui trovate un elenco produttori di make up cruelty free (inglese) e qui invece un elenco in italiano. Mi è piaciuto anche il post di Lacquerized su questo argomento.

Tornando allo smalto: l'ho comprato perché dalla boccetta sembrava un bel viola shimmer, invece una volta steso risulta essere un blu non molto coprente (due mani nelle mie foto, una sola sul mignolo) con shimmer viola. Sfortunatamente gli shimmer non si vedono molto ed il colpo d'occhio finale è prevalentemente di uno smalto blu scuro.
PS: questo smalto macchia, necessaria la base.

NOTD: Essence Multi dimension 59 Purple Diamond

A gorgeous amethyst purple, so full of microglitter that it looks "foilish"; it's  so beautiful under the sunlight that I have to post two pics of it ;-) [#1 and #2].

Application is smooth and opaque after one coat (two in my pics), it just seemed me a little hard to dry (for pic#3 - shade-  I had to apply a third coat on ring finger because I scratched polish with a piece of cardboard  I was using as background) but I think this issue could be solved with a coat of Seche or any fast dry top coat.

Bellissimo smalto viola ametista, così pieno di microglitter da dare un effetto "foil"!! Splendido sotto il sole (ho abbondato con le foto e ne ho messe due - 1 e 2).

Applicazione tranquilla, già dalla prima passata è super coprente, nelle mie foto ce ne sono due!

L'unico difettuccio che ho riscontrato è la lentezza nell'asciugarsi, per la foto 3 (in ombra) ho dovuto applicare un terzo strato all'anulare perché si era "segnato" lo smalto maneggiando il cartocino che usavo come sfondo. Credo che con una mano di Seche o altro top coat ad asciugatura rapida si possa risolvere!

Lilla a confronto - Lilac comparison

I am a lilac and purple lover so I can't resist to these shades of polish. As I didn't know what to swatch today (I only have 52 untrieds :-P) , I decided to do a small lilac creme comparison, here are my bottles:
Sono un'amante di viola e lilla così non riesco a resistere a smalti di questi colori. Siccome non sapevo cosa swatchare oggi (ho "solo" 52 smalti ancora da aprire e provare), ho pensato di fare un piccolo confronto dei lilla creme che possiedo:

You could see that actually they are quite different (apart from Essence XXL 58 The one and only and Zoya Malia) so they all were worth buying! Concerning the last two, they are really really close. I'd say that Malia is a little bit darker and reddish, but they are quite hard to distinguish.

Si vede che sono tutti abbastanza diversi fra loro (a parte Essence XXL 58 The one and only e  Zoya Malia) così posso dire che...andavano comprati! Per quanto riguarda gli ultimi due, sono molto simili. Potei dire che Malia è leggermente più scuro e "caldo", ma la differenza è quasi impercettibile.
