Here is my first ABC Challenge post: A as Orly After Party .
I got this beauty thanks to my husband's colleague, who went to
the US a couple months ago and offered (or maybe I moral blackmailed him :-P) to do
some polish shopping for me. From my long long list* only After Party
and a scented Sally came back (together with a couple random
polishes). *Again I have to say I really envy all US girls, having
access to all those fantastic polishes at affordable prices.
But back to After Party, a super dark polish apparently out of
place in the vibrant Feel The Vibe collection; anyway loving dark polishes I fell in love with it as soon as I saw promo pics.
It's a black based polish infused with pink, blue and fuchsia
shimmer and on nails it looks (or at least this is what I thought)
practically dark blue. Very pigmented, it's opaque after first coat
(check “in progress” picture); anyway I applied two coats for
this swatch.
As it dries a little bit rough and matte after taking swatch pictures I added a layer
of an Essence Gel-Look top coat, that makes the “sparkling” more evident (I would
have loved a natural shiny finish on this one). Check the result on the last picture!

Partiamo con il primo post della ABC Challenge...
A come After
Party di Orly, smalto scuro apparentemente fuori luogo nella
collezione Feel the Vibe (la neon estiva 2012); io me ne sono
innamorata dalle foto promozionali e quando un collega di mio marito
ha fatto sapere di essere diretto negli Stati Uniti (e disposto a
fare un po' di shopping per me - dopo pochissime pressioni psicologiche :-P) non ho esitato a metterlo in cima
alla lista della spesa.
Della mia lunga lunga lista solo questo ed un mini Sally
sono tornati a casa (con altri smalti random), nonostante tutto nessuno supera l'Ing.Marito (ormai polish buyer consumato). Dovrei trovare il modo di mandarlo in America :-)
Dopo questa digressione torniamo allo smalto: pigmentatissimo,
coprente alla prima passata, con una superficie che resta leggermente
ruvida.
Il colore sembra un blu scuro con microglitter azzurro, fucsia e rosa ma
in realtà la base è nera; nelle foto con la bottiglia il risultato
dopo due passate.
Il finish è leggermente opaco, per cui dopo averlo swatchato ho provato ad applicare una passata di top coat Gel-Look Essence, per
vederlo in versione lucida, con i luccichii un po' più valorizzati (ultima foto). A dirla tutta avrei apprezzato di più un finish naturalmente lucido in questo smalto
