NOTD: [b] Basic n. 10 - Schlecker Polish

Yesterday I hit the wall with my right hand while making a bed: my middle finger nail literally bent in half (I'm not sure this is the right phrase), so hard that polish chipped immediately. It wasn't tore but started peeled badly so I had to file it, and then file all nails to adjust their lenght. It's a pity, they were growing quite well; anyway soon my silkwraps will arrive (thanks to 8ty8) and I might be able to do some "patching" to my peeling tips.
Here is yesterday's mani: a grey polish I bought for almost nothing (99 cents) at a Schlecker shop; I found it interesting and took it, considering that at worst I could have used the bottle to "franken".
Colour is quite nice (considering cheapness) but requirest at least three coats to become fully opaque (maybe a fourth could have been useful - under direct sunlight, looking against the light, some lighter "spots" were still visible): I would have used it as a base for a kondadicure, if I hadn't hit that damn wall.
In my photograph you can see also one of my favourite jumpers: purple/blue, with very long sleeves ;-)

Ieri facendo un letto (con troppa energia) sono andata a sbattere con la mano sul muro: l'unghia del medio destro si è praticamente piegata in due e si è scheggiato perfino lo smalto. Non è proprio rotta ma si è "sfogliata" ed ho dovuto dare una accorciata a tutte. Peccato, stavano crescendo abbastanza; comunque presto dovrebbero arrivarmi i silk wrap e così potrò fare qualche esperimento sulle mie unghiette sfaldate.
Posto la foto di uno smalto supersuper economico che ho preso l'altro giorno alla Schlecker. Costa 99 centesimi e mi son detta che al massimo avrei tenuto la bottiglietta per fare qualche "frankenpolish".
Il colore è molto carino, grigio creme, e non è malissimo (considerando il costo). Ci vogliono però tre strati perché sia opaco (forse anche quattro perché sia perfetto sotto il sole); però come base per una konad è un bel colore (se non mi fossi presa la botta avrei fatto qualche esperimento). Quello sotto è uno dei miei maglioni preferiti, blu viola e con le maniche extra lunghe ;-)

Essence Multiglitter Tip Painter 03 So Funky

 Wore tips, no time/will to redo my mani. So I did a little retouching and covered it with Essence Multiglitter tip painter (03 Funky). It has a pinkish base but on raspberry base it wasn't noticeable; anyway two coats gave a good result as a glittery french. The only "sore point" was, as for all glitters, removing it!
I hope I'll be able to write a "fuller" post soon (I have some pics ready to comment), today my house requires (screams) cleaning!! 
Punte consumate, nessuna voglia di rifare la manicure...Ecco un esperimento con il striper Essence. Il colore dello smalto è rosato ma non si nota molto. Comunque carino, in due passate ho coperto abbastanza le punte; unico punto dolente (come tutti i glitter) toglierlo!!
Spero di postare presto qualcosa di più corposo (ho delle foto già pronte, manca il tempo di commentarle), stamattina prima devo fare le pulizie, il mio appartamento fa schifooo!!

NOTD: China Glaze Heli-Yum

Another gorgeous polish, China Glaze really charmed me. I'll define it as "raspberry", opaque after two coats and very shiny!! Left: outdoor, shadow - right outdoor, sunlight (maybe slightly darker than it appears in pics).

Un altro bellissimo smalto, China Glaze mi ha veramente incantata!
Color lampone, coprente in due passate e super lucidissimo! A sinistra foto all'esterno, ombra e a destra sotto il sole! Forse è leggermente più scuro di quanto sembri nelle foto

Non fatelo a casa vostra! - Don't do this at home!

Small post on a recently mess I did: to cover green polish I tried a similar-ruffian with a Sephora fuchsia (very nice, will do a mani with it and post soon); as I wasn't satisfied I decided not to put Seche and after a while I went to bed. The morning after: real disaster,  I did not "stamp" my nails with sheets since ???. I didn't remember that "before" dry fast top coat era it took so much to polish to dry.

Piccolo post relativo ad una schifezza fatta di recente: per coprire il verde ho provato a fare una pseudo ruffian con un "fucsia" Sephora (carino, presto farò una mani solo con quello + foto) e siccome non ero convinta, non ho messo il Seche e dopo un po' sono andata a dormire...
La mattina dopo disastro supremo! Erano anni che non mi stampavo le lenzuola sulle unghie; non mi ricordavo che "prima" dei fast dry top coat bisognasse aspettare tanto!!

NOTD: Look by Bipa - 19 poison

I finally tried this  light "Shrek" green polish bought from Bipa and made some experiments as it's a frost and unfortunately leaves VPL and needs many coats to cover VNL. Anyway applying a white opaque polish after base makes two coats enough to have a good coverage.
Here is what I did:
pinkie: 1 coat white polish + 2 coats poison
ring: 2 coats poison
middle: 3 coats poison
index: 4 coats (!)
As I don't like VNL I think I will use always a white polish under this one, so I'll just have to apply 2 coats. I still haven't decided whether I like it or not, it's more yellow and less green than I expected/wanted.
Just to "position" it, the 8ml bottle costs 2,19 € (and it's pretty cheap here in Italy - considering that Sephora minis cost 5,5 €). 
Ho fatto qualche esperimento con questo verde "Shrek" preso da Bipa un paio di settimane fa, dato che è perlato non mi convince molto, si vedono le strisce del pennello e se non si danno tante mani, anche la parte bianca dell'unghia.
Però mettendo dopo la base uno smalto bianco opaco (ho usato il bianco Deborah French manicure) bastano due mani per un colore intenso e coprente.
Qui quello che ho fatto (dopo la base):
mignolo: una passata smalto bianco, due di poison
anulare; due mani poison
medio: tre poison
indice: quattro poison
Credo che opterò per il bianco + due mani. Non so ancora se mi piace o no, è meno verde e più giallo di quanto volessi...
Tanto per capire il "collocamento" sul mercato 8ml costano 2,19 €; non male, considerando i prezzi degli smalti qui da noi (i mini Sephora a 5,5 € per esempio)...

NOTD: China Glaze Grape Pop

Set up by Manateemama swatch, last Sunday I tried on my second Up&Away: Grape Pop. I was quite sure I'd love it: I am a purple/violet/whaterver similar addicted. But now I can say I adore it! First layer was extremely stripey and uneven, but with second one everything went perfect and the result was amazing: a deep purple, intense and super shiny (I told you I adore it ;-)). I couldn't stop staring at my nails!

Unfortunately, as all purples, it is very difficult to picture it, it always comes out too blue...Second picture (the out of focus one) is quite representative of real color. BTW I have to apologize per my mani pics, the weird "uneven" surface effect is due to my Seche Vite that is becoming too thick and was applied quite poorly. Grape Pop alone was perfect!

Istigata dallo swatch di Manateemama domenica ho provato il secondo Up&Away: Grape Pop. Che l'avrei amato non c'erano quasi dubbi: sono una fanatica del viola in tutte le sue varianti e sfumature. Bene ora posso dire che lo adoro! A parte la prima mano, venuta disomogenea e strisciatissima, con la seconda si è sistemato tutto ed il risultato è stupendo: un viola scuro ma non troppo, intenso ed extralucido! Non facevo altro che guardarmi le mani!!!

Putroppo fotografarlo è un'impresa, anche modificando il bilanciamento del bianco viene sempre troppo blu! La seconda foto (quella sfocata) rende abbastanza il colore reale. Mi scuso per la finitura strana nella prima foto: il top coat mi si sta addensando (ce l'ho da un mese solo, dall'odore che ha è chimica pura e funziona alla grande, però probabilmente non è un caso che vendano il thinner apposito) e l'ho steso da cani!

NOTD: China Glaze Light as Air

Saturday it was a sunny day and I tried my first China Glaze: Light as Air. Under sunlight it's very light, almost white (first picture);

application has been a little bit tricky on second layer and I did another coat on middle and ring finger. I like this colour but on my hands it made a little "corpse bride" effect. It also make my fingertips look reddish, so I started to "mess" it with essence plate and black polish. I won't post the whole picture cause my freehand abilities are equal to 0 and french tips went out awful on index and middle (I tried to damp adding some glittery polish). Anyway I find Light as Air matches very well with black and silver glitter, I'll do that again!

Sabato giornata di sole, ho provato il primo China Glaze...Light as Air è un lilla chiarissimo (quasi bianco sotto il sole - prima foto): ho fatto un po' di fatica nella stesura della seconda mano, su medio e anulare ho pasticciato un po' e ho dato una terza passata. Il colore mi piace, però fa un po' l'effetto "sposa cadavere" sulla mano (e evidenzia un rossore che altrimenti non vedo) per cui ho iniziato subito a pasticciarci sopra ;-) non posto la foto completa perché a mano libera sono una schiappa e ho fatto una schifezza, però devo dire che l'abbinamento di questo lilla con il nero (e volendo un po' di glitter argento) è una figata!
