Jellynat Giveaway

Jellynat è una blogger francese, che per festeggiare i suoi primi 50 lettori ha messo in palio i due smalti fotografati: Essie "Mod Squad" (rosa carico) e Sinful "Crystalline" (azzurro cielo con shimmer acquamarina).
Nel frattempo è arrivata a 71 lettori! Sono contenta, ne merita molti: io l'ho scoperta solo oggi, ma ho letto alcuni dei suoi post precedenti e li ho trovati molto carini ed interessanti (ad esempio la comparazione di Chanel Particulière con alcuni OPI ed altri). Jellynat is a French blogger who decided to organize a giveaway (two pictured polishes) to celebrate her first 50 blog readers: it's Essie "Mod Squad" (lovely hot pink) and Sinful "Crystalline" (sky blue with aqua shimmer).
In the meantime she reached 71 readers! I'm happy, she deserves tons of followers: I discovered her blog just today but I read some of her previous posts and found them well written and interesting (for instance comparison of Chanel Particulière with some OPI and others).

NOTD: OPI You don't know Jacques Matte

Finalmente ho provato il matte: You don't know Jacques.

Ho usato la base, anche se OPI specifica che non va messa, perché volevo comunque proteggere l'unghia da macchie. La stesura è un po' difficoltosa, la prima passata resta strisciatissima, e anche la successiva, se non stesa bene, non dà un risultato uniforme (sembra che lo smalto si asciughi molto in fretta). Ho dovuto dare tre mani e comunque alla luce del sole il risultato non è bellissimo, non tanto come copertura quanto come uniformità (si vedono le righe del pennello).

Magari senza base va meglio, mah! O forse devo prendere mano.

Per fortuna ne ho preso solo uno.

Finally I tried a matte: You don't know Jacques.

I used a base underneath, even if OPI instructions specify that it should not be used, because I wanted to avoid stains on nail after removing polish.

Application is a little bit difficult, as first coat remained very streaky and also after second one result was not enough uniform: it seems that polish dries (and becomes matte) very fast.

I applied three coats and still in sunlight result is not perfect: not much concerning coverage but uniformity of surface (brush streaks are still visible).

Maybe without base it would be easier to apply! Or I have to improve my technique.

Luckily I bought this one only.

Broadway "sweet" remover

From time immemorial this nailvarnish remover was parked in my bathroom cabinet. Now I started using it and...it smells awfully!!

Moreover it seems less effective than previous one (Maybelline).

Da tempo immemore avevo questo levasmalto nell'armadietto, ho iniziato ad usarlo e...Che odore orrendo! 

Inoltre mi sembra sia meno efficace del precedente (Maybelline).

UDG/NOTD: Bullish on OPI - Colección de España

Messo ieri: rosso chiaro, ciliegia (quella della macedonia in scatola)

Bello, lucido, sembra anche abbastanza resistente, ad oggi (dopo aver lavato i capelli) è ancora perfetto.

Al sole - sunlight

Polished my nails yesterday: light red, kind of cherry colour (the canned fruit salad ones).

Shiny creme, it seems also quite resistant, yesterday evening I washed my hair and it's still perfect.

All'ombra, luce naturale - indoor, no flash

NOTD OPI Overexposed in South Beach

Unghie del giorno, anzi dell'altro giorno, visto che risalgono a giovedì sera:

In realtà il colore è più scuro (la foto è stata fatta con il flash) direi un viola ciclamino, molto carino!
Peccato che dopo due giorni scarsi le punte siano stra-consumate :-(
Riproverò con un'altra base...

Nails of the day (the day before yesterday, actually):
OPI Overexposed in South Beach from South Beach collection 
My picture is not really representative (it took it with flash), the colour is a little bit darker, a kind of "cyclamen" violet, really nice!
Unluckily tips have already faded :-(
I will try it again with another base coat.

Up & Away - China Glaze

Oggi c'è aria di primavera, niente freddo gelido dei giorni passati, evviva!
Per festeggiare ho appena ordinato (dagli U.S.A.) alcuni smalti della nuova collezione primaverile China Glaze (così proverò questa marca), adesso non mi resta che aspettare (minimo 4-5 settimane) :-(
La primavera sarà sicuramente arrivata, allora.

Today I sensed some "spring air" outside, the bitter cold of last days is gone (for the time being). To celebrate I just ordered (from U.S.) some polishes from new China Glaze Spring collection (I will finally be able to test this brand), now I just have to wait (at least 4-5 weeks) :-(
Spring will be arrived for real, at that time.

Nuovi (vecchi) OPI

Lasciando da parte la nuova collezione Hong Kong e i suoi "creme" bellissimi, sto pensando ad un nuovo acquisto su ebay...
Meglio qualcosa della collezione Canadian 200? Canadian Maple Leaf, At Your Quebec & Call, Nice Color Eh?, Glacier Bay Blues, Polar Bare, You Ottaware Purple
o Australia 2007 Don't Melbourne The Toast (s), Brisbane Bronze (s), Fit For A Queensland (p), A True Ab-original (s), Tasmanian Devil Made Me Do It (c), Koala Bear-y(c)
Dei primi non so niente (creme, shimmer...) ma i colori mi ispirano di più, proviamo!

Apart new Hong Kong collection and its wonderful "creme", I am thinking about bidding for some new polishes on Ebay.
I have to decide between some "Canadian" or "Australian" (see above for details).
Canadian are so old I cannot find any swatch or detail concerning colour, but I prefer those colours (blue, olive green, purple...).
