Good morning! I'll be brief, this time, as I don't have much to say about this hard-to-define color, a grey-lavender creme (actually there's a fuchsia hue visible in the bottle, but unfortunately the effect doesn't transfer on nails), the most pigmented of this collection, perfectly opaquein two coats.
Nice color anyway, very shiny!

Contrariamente al solito, oggi sarò breve :-P, non ho molto da dire su questo colore, abbastanza difficile da definire: un mix tra grigio e lavanda, con una finitura praticamente laccata/creme (in bottiglia ha anche un riflesso fucsia, catturato in una foto, ma purtroppo una volta sulle unghie non si vede per niente). E' il più pigmentato della collezione, in duepassate è perfettamente coprente; comunque uncolore carino e molto lucido!

Today I'll show you a very old swatch, a Models Own polish Ibought in 2010 and swatched in Summer 2011 *blushes with shame*.

Faithful to its name after first coat it's mainly a burgundy(as on bottle neck) and gets dark burgundy/brown with second one. Then I thought it was enough, but after checking nails undersunlight I noticed they looked a little bit streaky, especially nearcuticles, so I applied another coat = almost black!

A nice vampy polish, overall.

Tornando sui "vampy" oggi è il turno di un Models Own comprato nel 2010 (e swatchato la scorsa estate *arrossisce di vergogna*): Red'n'Black.
Il nome dicetutto del colore: dopo la prima passata un bordeaux, come quello che si vede sul collo dellabottiglia, dopo due mani bordeaux/marrone molto scuro e apparentemente a posto. Invece guardando in controlucesi vedevano tutte le unghie strisciate, soprattutto nella parte alta(v. foto): proprio brutto, quindi ho dovuto dare anche la terzapassata, che lo ha reso così scuro da sembrare quasi nero.
Tutto sommato carino, un classico degli smalti scuri.

To spice it up I added a stamping, made with Pixie Dust (EssenceMagnetics) and Born Pretty Plate M49.

Per rallegrarlo un po' poi ho aggiunto uno stamping, fatto con ildischetto M49 della Born Pretty e il Pixie Dust (Essence Magnetics).

I hope you won't be disappointed, as this will be mainly a teaser post :-)as I received my parcel last week but haven't swatched these pretties so far;I hope both my nails and weather will be better next week (it is socold here, luckily we haven't had any snow).
In the meantime enjoybottle pictures!

I ordered them relying just on the only “on wheel” swatch available on line, but knowing A-England polishes I was sureI wouldn't be disappointed. In fact when I opened the envelope I wasreally amazed by how beautiful they are in real life.

I chose Saint George (teal), Dragon (green) and PrincessSabra (olive bronze) but I was really tempted by the other holos (three was a nicemiddle-way between the “no buy” I should do, considering all my untrieds, and the “buy all” I would have loved to), so figure my surprise when I found that Adina addedAscalon to my order (thank you Adina :**): it really is amazing, I didn't imagine it has suchstrong duochrome hues (it's the one that looks gray in outdoor picture and light purple in indoor ones).

Ecco il secondo pacchetto ordinato nel2012 :-) e ricevuto la scorsa settimana. Non sono ancora in grado dipostare swatches ma spero di rimediare il prossimo week end, sperandoche il tempo e le condizioni delle mie unghie migliorino (questismalti si meritano un adeguato). Nel frattempo ammirate le boccettesbriluccicanti!
Quando ho ordinato questi smalti dellanuova collezione “The Legend” mi sono basata sull'unico swatch“su ruota” disponibile in rete ma sapendo come sono gli smaltiA-England non mi sono posta molte domande...E devo dire che quando liho visti dal vivo sono rimasta incantata!

Avevo scelto Saint George (ottanio),Dragon (verde) e Princess Sabra (bronzo/oliva); diciamo che tra il “no buy” teorico e il“buy all” emotivo ho scelto una via di mezzo, così quando nella bustaho trovato anche Ascalon (grazieeee Adina :*) sono rimastacosì :-0. Ha un effetto duochrome stupendo che mi era sfuggitocompletamente (è quello che nelle foto con flash sembra viola chiaro e all'aperto grigio).
In caso non resistiate e vogliatevederli dal vivo senza aspettare me :-P ho linkato un paio di post di altre bloggers nella sezione Novità.

When I found the full EssenceCrystalliced display in my local Ovs I couldn't resist and bought all five polishes; colors are quite soft but pigmentation and performance are not consistent so I've been disappointed with some of them and reallyhappy about others.

This is the first I tried, a pale pinkwith few silver glitter (scarce and scattered, barely visible on nails) and a pink hue thatgives it a sort of mother-of-pearl glow.

Medium pigmentation, aftertwo coats nail is not streaky but nail line is still visible. Iapplied another coat on pinkie and ring but the difference is notthat evident.

A very delicate color, could be a nicebase for stamping or decals.

Quando ho trovato il display dellaTrend Edition Essence Crystalliced praticamente completo non ho potuto (o saputo) resisteree mi sono comprata tutti e cinque gli smalti.

I colori sono“pastellosi”, con shimmer più o meno nascosti, ma la resa e lapigmentazione variano parecchio dall'uno all'altro, alcuni sono carini e altri decisamente deludenti.

Questo è stato il primo che hoprovato, un rosa pallido con qualche glitter argento (veramente pochie dispersi nello smalto) e un riflesso rosa caldo, che gli dà unaspetto quasi madreperlato. E' mediamente coprente, nel senso chedopo due mani la superficie non è strisciata ma comunque la lineadell'unghia si intravede. Per vedere quanto cambiasse il risultatoho provato ad applicare ancora una mano su anulare e mignolo, nelle foto vedete che la differenza non è moltissima

Comunque un colore delicato e nondifficile da gestire, potrebbe essere una base interessante per stamping odecals.

Here is the polish I showed you yesterday in my Old Gold Buffy comparison: it's a dark green jelly base filled with golden particles (mini flakes) that show red and green reflections.

Brush is round and not very comfortable, two coats in my pictures (but considering the fading tips I'd recommend a 3 coats application).

About brand: Pupa is an Italian brand, retail price tag of polishes is quite high (€ 5,90 x 5ml) so usually I skip their displays unless polishes are on sale (that luckily happens every now and then); among the common shades there are really appealing ones (for instance their “metallics”, as 607).

Ecco lo smalto che vi ho mostrato ieri nella comparazione “Old Gold Buffy”, il Pupa 706 (niente nomi purtroppo): base verde scurissimo jelly (o semi trasparente se vogliamo italianizzare) piena di particelle oro scuro (dei mini flakes) che sotto la luce hanno anche riflessi verdi e rossi.

Non mi sono trovata molto bene con il pennello, piccolo e tondeggiante, nelle foto vedete il risultato dopo due passate, considerando lo sbiadimento sulle punte direi che tre sono preferibili.

Come sapete non ho molti smalti Pupa, considerando anche il prezzo (5,90€ x 5ml – anche se fortunatamente spesso si trovano a prezzo scontato) finora ho comprato solo colori che mi sembravano veramente particolari, tipo i “metallici” (ad esempio il 6 07).

Che vi pare? Se vi siete perse il Gold Old Buffy andrete a cercare questo o ormai vi siete messe il cuore in pace?

ENG When trying Gold Old Buffy, that here became the most hard to find of Vampire's Love Trend Edition, I decided to check if I already had something similar in my stash, here is my first attempt:

ITA Quando ho provato per la prima volta Gold Old Buffy della Vampire's Love Essence ho pensato che fosse veramente un colore particolare (tra l'altro uno dei primi a sparire dai vari display qui) e ho cercato di compararlo con smalti che mi sembravano simili:

ENG As you could see they are quite different from Gold Old Buffy, as Edyta is more green and metallic, Wagon Trail is darker and with shimmer instead of micro flakes and finally Desierto Seco is definitely on the brown side.

ITA Come vedete sono tutti molto diversi, Edyta è più verde e metallico, Wagon Trail scuro e con shimmer invece di micro flakes e infine Desierto Seco vira decisamente al marrone rispetto a Buffy.

ENG So I thought this really was a unique color, until I tried a Pupa polish I found on sale and tadaaaa...

ITA Quindi Gold Old Buffy mi è parso un colore veramente unico...Finchè non ho provato uno smaltino Pupa preso ai saldi...Tadaaa:

ENG Judging by the bottle the particles seem different as Pupa ones are bigger, but once on nails they are so similar (Pupa is a tad darker) and have the same “fading” problem on tips, too (after two coats).
To me these two can be labelled as twins (or dupes), what to you think?

ITA Dalle bottiglie sembrano leggermente diversi (le particelle del Pupa sono più grandi) ma una volta sulle unghie sono praticamente identici – il Pupa è leggerissimamente più scuro - hanno perfino lo stesso problema delle punte scolorite dopo due passate! Che vi pare? Io direi decisamente "gemelli"!

There are colors that I tend to buyimpulsively, without thinking about the similar ones that I alreadyhave in my stash (or worse, in my untrieds box). Drama Queen was this type of purchase, also because I love the name, makes me think of afunny Scrubs episode; besides that...How can I resist a dark polishwith noticeable shimmers that is also part of a limited edition andcosts just 2,79€? No way!

Unfortunately the brush had awfullybent/crooked fibers inside so application has been just quite difficult, but thepolish has a good viscosity and after first coat it was almostopaque.
I applied two, as usual, for a deeper colour.

For me it's a gorgeous colour, reallydifficult to define: a very dark brown/green base (a color warmerthan black) with bronze/green/pink shimmer (or microglitter): <3!!

In case you think it looks too “witchy”on my long nails, take a look at beautiful pictures from Elsa on Like a Candy Shop, itlooks gorgeous on her!

Ci sono colori che prima si comprano epoi ci si chiede “ma non ho già qualcosa di simile?” Drama Queenè uno di questi. Prima di tutto il nome, che mi piace da matti (miricorda Scrubs), poi il colore scurissimo con shimmer evidenti (i colorida strega che piacciono a me).
Ah, sì era anche un'edizione limitataper cui ho speso senza pensarci un attimo i 2,79€.

Putroppo il mio pennello eraveramente orrendo: le fibre erano come incurvate e si aprivano in maniera diversa una dall'altra per cui la stesura èstata penosa.

Lo smalto in sé ha una buonaconsistenza, la prima mano era già mediamente coprente (senzastrisciate) ma per avere un colore pieno ne ho date due.

Bellissimocolore difficile da definire, un marrone/verde scurissimo con shimmerbronzo/verde/rosati. Ovviamente mi piace da morire e se vi fa impressionevederlo su unghie lunghe :-P date un'occhiata alle belle foto di Elsa su Like a Candy Shop.

As I tend to buy such dark colors andCatrice (and Essence) sometimes make really similar colors in LE andpermanent line, I decided to compare Drama Queen with 440 I wear mysunglasses at night.

After a long and careful analysis Irealized that these colors are quite different: 440 has a black basewhereas DQ is slightly warmer. Shimmer is different, too as 440 isgreen/pink and DQ is bronze: i took a picture of bottles that showsclearly how they reflect, anyway the effect on nails is not soevident (unfortunately).

Visto che amo questi colori il paragonecon il “fratello” Catrice non in edizione limitata (ma forseverrà messo in esaurimento) 440 I wear my sunglasses at night èstato immediato: un'attenta analisi ^_^ ha evidenziato che il coloredi base è diverso, visto che il 440 è nero mentre il Drama Queen haquesto tono leggermente più caldo e gli shimmer/microglitter hannoriflessi diversi: decisamente verde e rosa per il 440, più bronzatoil DQ; le foto delle boccette sono state fatte in modo da evidenziarei riflessi, sulle unghie l'effetto è molto più sottile (magarifosse così visibile)!

Hello Kitty Amber and Cane Sugar Lip balm - Burrocacao Ambra e Zucchero di canna

No nails today (don't worry, they will be back tomorrow :-)), for once I'll talkabout you a lip balm; as my lips tend to dry easily I really love lipbalms and I always need one at hand, so every time I find aninteresting product (with no mineral oil) I grab it!

This one has been an impulse buy, as Ididn't expect very much from a “Hello Kitty” product but I readit contained some natural /good ingredients plus it was on sale so Idecided to give it a try.

There were several “flavours”, thisone is Amber and Cane Sugar (SPF 15); stick is light brown and has asoft smell that can actually remind of brown sugar. When applied onlips it seems quite solid (it doesn't become mushy) but slides easily, as it's melting a little bit when touching skin; it leaves a thin film onlips, without being sticky.

I really like this product and even ifI have many other lip balms to try, I keep this one in place #1:my bag, and would be curious to try also other flavours.

Packaging is written in many languages,even if the product is made in Italy, do you ever found these lipbalms in your country?

Per oggi cambio genere (non preoccupatevi, domani tornerò sugli smalti :-)) e vi parlo di unburrocacao; avendo le labbra che si seccano facilmente sono una verafanatica di lip balm e simili, devo averne uno sempre a portata dimano e quindi tendo a comprarne in abbondanza, soprattutto se hannoinci che mi sembrano decenti (quindi niente mineral oil).

Questo è stato un azzardo, perchétrattandosi di un prodotto Hello Kitty pensavo che tutto lo sforzofosse concentrato sul packaging e dentro ci fosse qualche schifezzaimmonda, ma vedendo che nell'inci comunque c'erano tante cosenaturali ho pensato di provarlo (e poi era in offerta – alle SireneBlu).

Ho comprato la versione Ambra eZucchero di canna (SPF 15): lo stick ha un colore marroncino chiaroed un profumo molto tenue che effettivamente potrebbe ricordarelo zucchero grezzo.

Stendendolo si ha la sensazione che puressendo compatto (non si spappola sulle labbra) scorra comunque bene,lascia un film sottile sulle labbra e una sensazione di morbidezzaleggera e non appiccicosa.

E' incolore, rende solo le labbra unpo' più lucide.

Io mi trovo molto bene e pur avendoaltri acquisti da provare, continuo a tenerlo nel posto n. 1 deiburrocacao: in borsetta e sicuramente se mi capitassero sottomano, neprenderei degli altri.
Tra l'altro sono anche fatti in Italia, voi neavete mai provato qualcuno?

Snow Globe is a glitter top coatincluded in last Winter China Glaze “Let it Snow” collection, actually a re-release, as it was first launched in 2009 with Specialty collection.

It's hard to explain how it looks:technically is composed by microglitters and big hexagonal glitters,both iridescent (they look pink, yellow, light blue...) but the finaleffect changes very much according to the base it is applied on.

During Christmas holidays I played withit while swatching and tried it on several colors but my favourite isSnow Globe/dark base combo, I used it as my Christmas'Eve mani (Itook a picture with my cookbook as background – I was trying toprepare Crespelle that day).

I really love those sparkles and theversatility of the polish, for instance Cristina from Pee Before Polish tried it just on tips, very nice!

Snow Globe è uscito quest'inverno comeparte della collezione Let it Snow, anche se in realtà si tratta dellariedizione di un colore lanciato nel 2009 con la Specialty Collection.

E' un top coat pieno di microglitter eglitter esagonali cangianti (si vedono rosa, gialli, celesti...).

E' stupefacente come l'effetto cambi aseconda della base su cui viene applicato: durante le vacanzenatalizie l'ho provato su un po' di colori e sicuramente il mioabbinamento preferito è quello con la base scurissima: mi èpiaciuto un sacco e l'ho tenuto come manicure per la vigilia (hoanche fatto una foto “a tema” usando come sfondo il libro diricette che stavo disperatamente consultando, quella mattina l'ho passata spadellando crespelle**)!

Insomma uno smalto bellissimo e moltoversatile, mi è piaciuto molto anche l'utilizzo “sulle punte” fattoda Cristina di Pee Before Polish.

Since I received my W7 polishes I was really eager to try them, but as I was forced to use my right hand (and still have topractice to find the right "pose", especially for my pointer finger) I decided to start with the less interesting one for me: Saturn.

In the bottle I couldn't see any colourshift and also on nail it turns out a simple metallic olivegreen.

Polish is creamy and easy to apply(probably because of Toluene), two coats in my pictures. Slightlyvisible brush strokes when dry, but after all I think it's a nice color,especially for marshy green lovers (as I am).

Morivo dalla voglia di provare questi W7 ma dato chesono obbligata ad usare la mano destra (e devo fare pratica, come forse si nota dalle foto non ho ancora trovato la giusta "posa" e l'indice va fuori fuoco) hodeciso di partire con quello che mi pareva meno interessante, il Saturn.

Dalla bottiglia non si notano cambi dicolore, infatti anche applicato risulta un semplice verde olivametallico. Lo smalto è cremoso e l'applicazione è buona(probabilmente grazie al Toluene e al resto), due mani nelle miefoto. Una volta asciutto si notano leggeri segni delle pennellate ma tutto sommato lo trovo un colore carino, per leamanti dei verdi paludosi (tipo me)!

Last month I finally managed to swatch my Claire's Poison Apple (I got it thanks to DragonRhia last year, together with Venomous and Evil Queen, shades "probably" inspired by MAC Maleficent polishes).

It's very difficult to describe this polish, as it's made of a pinkish red/rust full of iridescent golden microglitters; as the base is quite sheer I think it should be applied in thick coats, without spreading polish too much. Unfortunately brush is not helpful, as it's quite slim, anyway I managed to apply three very thick coats and got the result you see in my pictures.

On nails it looks pretty nice, a amaranth that shifts to orange, you can check the shift "live" here below (my first nail video ^_^).

Very nice despite its somehow laborious application!
I think it's a pity that Claire's polishes are not sold in Italy; besides US I know Claire's brand can be found in Portugal, too...What about your country?

Finalmente a fine 2011 sono riuscita a fotografare Poison Apple, uno dei tre smalti della Claire's che ho ricevuto la scorsa primavera, probabilmente :-P ispirati ai MAC Maleficent (apro la solita lagnosa parentesi sul perché qui non si trovino marche interessanti tipo questa, pur disponibile nei negozi di altri paesi europei, ad esempio il Portogallo).

E' uno smalto particolare, difficilissimo da definire, io provo con un “base amaranto/ruggine piena di microglitter dorati cangianti”; avendo una base leggera secondo me va steso denso (per non dover dare mille passate), senza tirarlo troppo.

Il pennello in questo caso non aiuta, visto che è abbastanza scarno; comunque nelle mie foto vedete il risultato di tre strati spessi (praticamente cazzuolate di smalto).
Sulle unghie si rivela un bel duochrome amarena/arancio intenso, oltre al mare di foto metto anche un mini video :-) tanto per farvi vedere come cambia dal vivo.
Molto carino, anche se la stesura non è proprio da "passata e via".

Mi chiedo perché qui da noi non vengano prodotti un po' di smalti duochrome :-( Piuttosto che vedere crackle e magnetici proposti come "Novità del 2012"...

While waiting from new A-England pretties (Adina released a stunning new collection, The Legend, that you can peek at here) today I'm showing you a favourite of mine: Lady of the Lake.

I don't have much to say about it, I just Love this purple with scattered holo particles (similar to Tristam, another marvel), when preparing the post I even couldn't decide what pictures to choose, I liked all of them, as a matter of fact this post is a little bit "picture heavy"!
Application is a dream, the polish is creamy and surface comes out perfectly even; two coats in my pictures, no top coat: Lady of the Lake is already super shiny!

In attesa dei nuovi gioielli di Adina (un assaggio della collezione The Legend si può vedere qui) oggi vi mostro uno dei miei smalti preferiti: Lady of The Lake.L'unica cosa che posso dire è che avrei messo nel post tutte le foto che ho fatto (e comunque ne ho messe tante), è un viola stupendo, le particelle olografiche così sparse (simile a Tristam, un'altra meraviglia) gli danno veramente un aspetto particolare. E' cremoso e si applica perfettamente: due mani nelle mie foto, niente top coat, se è lucido è tutto merito suo ;-)!

Saturday, finally!! Today I'll show you a polish I swatched recently (just before the major tear on my middle nail) and that I really found awful: Luxury Secret from Essence.

I don't know why I bought it in the first place, maybe the indefinite, brown/grey colour seemed interesting in the bottle, but applying it (just one coat, the polish is very pigmented) I realized it was metallic but frosty too, hence leaving very visible brush strokes on nails.

Do you agree with me it is just ugly or someone finds it appealing?

Oggi vi farò vedere uno smalto swatchato di recente (poco prima del disastro sull'unghia del medio) e che non mi è piaciuto per niente: il Luxury Secret della Essence.
Non so neanch'io perché l'ho comprato, forse per il colore indefinibile grigio marrone, fatto sta che una volta steso (tra l'altro è pigmentatissimo, basta una mano) ho realizzato che la finitura tendeva al metallico MA frost, con conseguenti segni delle pennellate, e l'effetto finale non mi è sembrato particolarmente interessante, anzi.
Condividete la mia delusione o c'è qualche estimatrice?

Mai Senza Smalto is 2 yrs old! Secondo compleanno del blog!

Today is my blog 2nd birthday!! Many things changed since that 20th January 2010, when I first posted here (no pictures, just a opening consideration, not even translated in English *shame*); my life has changed pretty much in these two years and this blog has been sometimes “my safe place”, some others “should I continue doing that?” ^_^

Anyway I'm still here and I'm really happy that you are here, too: thank you all for visiting / following my blog *sends kisses*!

BTW I'm arranging a “2” giveaway but as usually I'm late so stay tuned, as I will be posting it in the next days!

I'll be also trying to finally work on the blog layout but I don't think I'll change it all at once, maybe I will try some gradual modifications so from now on don't be afraid if you find contents appear/disappear/move! BTW In case you find something strange or not working let me know :-)

Oggi è il secondo compleanno di Mai Senza Smalto! Sono cambiate parecchie cose per me da quel 20 Gennaio 2010, quando ho cliccato “pubblica” per la prima volta, tra l'altro con un mini post di mera apertura, nemmeno tradotto in inglese *vergogna*.

In questi due anni il blog è stato a volte “il mio spazio vitale”, altre un qualcosa che non sapevo se valesse la pena continuare. Comunque sono ancora qui (nonostante la mia rinomata incostanza) e soprattutto ci siete voi a leggermi e a seguirmi, grazie :*!!!

A proposito, sto organizzando un givaway di festeggiamento MA ovviamente sono in ritardo, comunque state all'erta, nei prossimi giorni uscirà il post!

Ho deciso anche di iniziare a modificare il layout, ma credo lo farò gradualmente (anche perché non ho le idee ben chiare e nemmeno il tempo di lavorare su un progetto completo), per cui non spaventatevi se d'ora in poi vedete sparire/apparire/spostarsi delle cose; anzi se vedete qualcosa di strano o che non funziona fatemelo sapere, grazie!!

W7 Metallics from Nail Polish Direct [haul]

This month will be more quiet in termsof polishes, I'm planning not buying on line for a couple months (unless Istumble into something really “now or never” - obviously I should keep away from certain "temptresses" :-P), so I'll show youmy “nail mail” as soon as I get it; this is my first 2012 parcel (I confess another is on its way *blushes*).

Talking about provocateurs...Fellow blogger Stregalice tweeted abouthaving bought these pretty W7 Metallic polishes (duochromes) from Nail Polish Direct andimmediately I decided to try them, too (also because a shade – Venus- was already sold out).

I ordered all available shades (theycost £ 1.95 each) and as there was a promo I got also a free top coat.

Shipping was quite affordable, £ 2.95 toItaly (not registered) and the parcel arrived here in 17 days, quite goodconsidering we were in the middle of Season holidays.

They really are nice, probably similarto other duochromes but as I haven't got any Models Own, Orly Cosmic FX orMAC, just a couple Claire's, I don't think I'll have dupes in my stash (and actually having a duochrome dupe wouldn't be that bad)!

The only thing I'd like to point out isthat they aren't B3Free: first ingredient is Toluene and I noticedalso a Formaldehyde/Melamine/Tosylamide Copolymer in the bottom part of ingredients list (not sure about how bad it is, anyway also some Models Own and Nyx polishes contain it).

Questo sarà un mese tranquillo intermini di posta, mi sono ripromessa di non ordinare smalti per unpaio di mesi almeno (tranne che in casi di “ora o mai più” oaltre eccezioni ovviamente - diciamo che dovrei evitare di farmi tentare da certe pusher :-P) e così vi mostrerò i pacchetti man manoche arrivano (diciamo che oltre a questo, il primo del 2012, ce n'è già un altro in arrivo *ehm*).

Tutto nasce da un tweet di Stregalice,che parlava di misteriosi duochrome che non vedeva l'ora diprovare...Appena ci ha linkato il sito del negozio che vende questiW7 (Nail Polish Direct) visto che uno eragià esaurito (Venus) ho deciso di ordinare i rimanenti, anche perché ilcosto tutto sommato era sostenibile (£ 1,95 a smalto + £ 2,95 di trasporto);tra l'altro c'era una promozione e con i cinque smalti mi èarrivato anche un top coat in omaggio.

Ordinati il 22 dicembre e arrivati il 9 gennaio, non male,considerando il periodo postale incasinato (Natale ecc...) nel mezzo.
A vederli sonomolto carini (un paio li ho già provati ovviamente), mi ricordanoaltri duochrome “famosi” ma dato che non ho nessun Models Own, MAC o Orly Cosmic FX, ma solo un paio di Claire's, non credo ci saranno problemi di doppi (e comunque avereun doppio duochrome non sarebbe un problema per me)!

L'unica cosa che devo precisare è chegli smalti non sono B3Free: il primo ingrediente è il Toluene e infondo in fondo ho letto anche un Formaldehyde/Melamine/Tosylamide Copolymer (non so cosa sia, ma il fatto che ci sia la Formaldeide non mi piace molto, tra l'altro ho trovato che è un ingrediente presente anche in certi Models Own e Nyx).

Today is Wednesday so...Pink time! Thepolish I'm showing you is Essence Magic Wand!, from Nail Art Magnetics collection.

It's a light pink with a metallic/frostfinish, "magnetizing" it makes appear darker stripes; also this time I used a simple “fridge” magnet.

Here I applied two coats (excepton pinkie, one coat), as I tried magnet on first coat but didn'tlike the result (bad stripes alignment) so I added another one and tried again.

It's very pigmented and on its own could remind of a chrome, if it wasn't for very visible brush strokes.
I really like these polishes because of their versatility (compared to crackle ones, for instance): if you don't feel like using magnets you still have a polish you can wear on its own or use for nail art, as they are good for stamping, too; I saw a preview somewhere about new Essence releases and noticed there will be three new magnetics (red, blue and ...don't remember), I'm really excited about them!

Oggi è mercoledì quindi...Rosa!Stavolta me la cavo con Magic Wand!, un magnetico della Essence. E' un rosa chiaro metallico tendente alfrost e una volta magnetizzato escono righe più scure; anche stavolta ho usato un comune magnete da frigo.

Sulle mie unghie vedete il risultatodopo la seconda mano (tranne sul mignolo): visto che le strisce mi erano venute mal allineate ho applicato un altro strato e ri-magnetizzato su quello.

E' molto pigmentato e da solo potrebbericordare un chrome (se non fosse per i segni delle pennellate, soprattutto sotto il sole).

Quello che mi piace di questi smalti è la versatilità (a confronto, che ne so, dei crackle): se proprio una non vuole impazzire con i magneti può usarli da soli o anche per delle nail art, visto che sono ottimi per lo stamping. Ho visto in qualche anteprima dei nuovi prodotti Essence che ne usciranno di nuovi (mi pare tre: rosso, blu e...non ricordo), sicuramente saranno miei!

Everytime I decide to order some Zoya polishes I begin to comb through bloggers' swatches because I know I can pick just few of them, as international shipping has a great impact on final cost (anyway lower than Italian price tag of 14€). I really wish we could buy them from Zoya.com, having the opportunity to take advantage of all promos and deals!

Anyway, in my last order I chose just two polishes from their Mirrors Fall collection, Neeka is one of them: a gorgeous dark -cool- purple with microglitters, that in the bottle appear light green but once on nail seem more on the golden side; some hot pink shimmer is also visible.

Two coats in my pictures, polish is creamy and application is a dream, once again I have to say I really love Zoya polishes, so far their quality never disappointed me.

Uno dei due colori della collezione autunnale Mirrors che ho ordinato quest'autunno (confesso che se anche noi potessimo usufruire delle promozioni del loro sito tipo Buy One Get One – e dei prezzi americani - di sicuro ne avrei presi di più).

Un bel viola scuro freddo con tantissimi microglitter che nella bottiglia sembrano verde chiaro, ma una volta stesi danno più un effetto dorato; sotto il sole si intravede anche un po' di shimmer rosa carico.

Due mani, smalto cremoso veramente stupendo da applicare: a livello qualitativo Zoya è davvero una delle mie marche preferite.

I don't have much to say about this Essence polish, added last Spring to the permanent Colour&Go collection. A beige base (quite sheer) with goldenshimmers/particles (but not big enough to be called flakes IMO), when applied –two coats in my pictures – it turned out more golden than I expected:as you could see the hue is really strong.

Despite its name, it's a polish I could definitely live without! Do you agree?

Poche parole per uno smaltino Essence uscito adAprile con le novità primaverili della Colour&Go: base beige chiaro, abbastanza trasparente, conshimmer/particelle dorate (non abbastanza grandi da essere dei flakes, però), una volta steso (due mani) si rivela moltopiù dorato del previsto, le particelle sono davvero superriflettenti!

Nonostante il nome, è un colore di cui potrei fare anche a meno :-P voi che dite?

ITA Ciao a tutte, anche l'Epifania-Befana è passata e io sono già rientrata nel ritmo "levatacce-occhiaie", con giornate decisamente frenetiche, quindi il post sui pacchetti Dicembrini arriva più in ritardo del previsto: comunque è stato un mese ricco in termini di smalti (a compensare un Novembre povero in termini di Paypal, ovviamente), che ha portato un bel po' di nuove bottigliette nel mio ~~Helmer~~ scatolone dei "da provare". ENG: More Hits: these five were the one I was lemming the most, and thanks to Sarah from Them Pretty Colors who kindly agreed to swap with me, I finally got them.

I was really happy to receive these polishes, because my hubby in Brazil found different shades so now I have almost the complete collection (12/13)!

ITA Ancora Hits: questi sono quelli che ho ricevuto grazie allo swap con Sarah di Them Pretty Colors, sono stata super felice di riceverli, perché erano quelli che desideravo di più e mio marito in Brasile aveva trovato altri colori, quindi ora ho quasi tutta la collezione (12 su 13).

CULT NAILS

ENG Another parcel I got is my first Cult Nails order (preorder of Super Powers collection). I was a little bit worried about customs, anyway parcel hasn't been blockedm, even if it was correctly marked as “nail polish” and I just had to pay VAT and fees, as value exceeded 22€.

Kudos to the packaging, very eco-friendly (I think I read that the idea of using cotton balls came from one of Maria's daughters, very clever of her) and classy at the same time.

I can't wait to try the polishes (especially Clairvoyant, formerly known as Unicorn Puke and sold out in few hours during limited edition sale).

I've been following Maria since she was a nailblogger and I really admire her for deciding to pursue her dream and starting her own polish collection (just one year ago), she's a great person and Cult Nails shades she created are gorgeous!

BTW to celebrate Cult Nails first Bday there is a free shipping promo until Jan, 14th (valid regardless cost or location so take advantage of it in case you are interested in some polishes)!

Clairvoyant - Time Traveller - Power Thief - Mind Control

ITA Un altro pacchetto arrivato è il mio ordine in “anteprima” della collezione Super Powers della Cult Nails. Ero preoccupata per il fattore D(ogana) visto che era chiaramente scritto nelle FAQ del negozio on line che il foglietto verde avrebbe riportato la dicitura “nail polish”, invece il pacco non è stato bloccato, ho dovuto solo pagare IVA e spese di sdoganamento perché il valore superava i 22€ (praticamente con il cambio applicato sono venuti 22,40€ :-/ vabbè almeno non è rimasto nei magazzini posta/dogana per mesi).

Non vedevo l'ora di provare gli smalti di Maria (soprattutto il famigerato Clairvoyant, che nella versione “a tiratura limitata” si chiamava Unicorn Puke ed è andato a ruba nella prevendita precedente), tra l'altro una persona carinissima, che ha iniziato come nailblogger e proprio un anno fa ha fatto il “salto” creando la propria linea di smalti.
Il packaging mi è piaciuto un sacco, sia per l'aspetto (le boccette erano avvolte in una specie di carta grezza, sigillata con l'etichetta riportante il nome) che per l'idea ecologica di usare dei batuffoli di cotone (che a noi smaltare tornano sempre utili) come imbottitura protettiva; se non ricordo male l'idea è di utilizzarli è venuta proprio ad una delle sue figlie.

NB: in occasione del primo compleanno di Cult Nails fino al 14 Gennaio non si pagano le spese di trasporto, indipendentemente da destinazione e quantità: se volete provare questi smalti potrebbe essere una buona occasione!

ITA Poi mi è arrivata anche una busta un po' di cosette che ho ordinato da Viva la Nails, utilizzando anche un buono sconto vinto a novembre (ma ovviamente ho sforato :-P): un paio di nail wraps con tulipani (uno dei miei fiori preferiti), french tips e altri decals.

ITA Il BeYu 209 con l'inci giusto (31) che Smaltoitaliano è riuscita a trovarmi e che mi ha mandato come “pensiero natalizio”. Io ormai avevo perso le speranze, nell'unico negozio Douglas della regione c'è solo la versione “fuffa” quindi Grazie!! :*Se non avete seguito il delirio collettivo relativo a questo smalto (svoltosi in larga parte su Twitter un po' di mesi fa), sappiate che dietro l'apparenza “shimmer” si nascondono dei riflessi paurosi, che potete ammirare qui e qui.

ENG And an Italian flakie!! Stregalice found this Nouba polish I was completely unaware of (this brand is not very popular in my area) and imagined I would have loved it (not difficult to guess :-P) so she bought a bottle for me, too!It's delicious, I can't wait to try some layerings with it!!

I know I keep on pointing out I'm not a blue polish addicted, but I just couldn't resist buying this one (Colour&Go released last October), considerning the amount of turquoise shimmers that were visible in the bottle (and the cheap price tag: 1,29€)!
The polish is quite pigmented and viscous, applying my usual two coats was really easy.
It's really really shimmering, even if on nails the turquoise hint is not very noticeable (at least not as much as I wanted – not that I expected a duochrome, but something with a stronger hue).
Nice color, anyway.

Blatero sempre di essere una fanatica del blu, e com'è che continuo a comprarne? Questo è uno degli ultimi Colour&Go della Essence e dalla bottiglia sembrava avere dei bellissimi riflessi verde/turchese così ho deciso di provarlo (se non fosse costato 1,29€ magari ci avrei pensato un po' di più...Forse).

E' viscoso e ben pigmentato, si stende facilmente e nelle foto vedete le mie solite due mani.

Per essere super shimmer, lo è, ma quei riflessi particolari nel complesso non si notano molto (non che sperassi in un duochrome, ma quasi).

Comunque uno smalto carino (e la ruota dei blu...s'impenna!*)

*chi se lo ricorda?? Mi è venuta in mente la battuta ma non la fonte e grazie a Google eccoci a metà anni '90 :-P

Here is the first of my Brazilian jewels!

I don't feel like writing anything morethan “teal-ish blue linear holo”! Obviously I love it!

Two coats in my pictures, applicationwas very good, thanks also to wide (but not too flat) brush.

The only remark on these polishes isthat they contain toluene, that you can clearly smell while applying (anyway it quickly disappears, whereas I have some other polishesthat keep stinking on nails for hours).

This one has been bought in Brazil forR$8 (approx 3,50€) and it's produced by Speciallità, that hasalso a virtual shop. It seems they ship abroad but I wrote them twiceabout international shipping, without receiving any answers. In caseyou contacted them and have been luckier than me please let me know!

Ecco il primo dei miei piccini brasiliani!

Non dico altro se non “blu tendente al teal +olografico lineare” ovviamente mi è piaciuto un sacco!

Nelle mie foto vedete il risultato dopodue mani: l'applicazione è ottima, grazie anche al pennello largo manon piatto.

Unico neo (più o meno grave, a secondadi come la si pensi, io comunque se fossi incinta ne starei alla larga), la presenza di toluene, che si avverte almomento della stesura (ma sparisce subito, a differenza di certismalti di altra provenienza che continuano a puzzare di chimico sulleunghie per ore).

Vengono prodotti dalla Speciallità, che ha anche unnegozio on line, e tanto per fare un po' dicomparazioni, il costo di questi smalti in loco è di R$8 (il doppio di quanto costa uno smalto delle linea normale) che dovrebbero corrispondere a 3,50€.

Ho scritto loro già due mail chiedendose spediscono in Italia, ma non ho ricevuto nessuna risposta, sequalcuna di voi li ha contattati e avuto più fortuna, mi/ci facciasapere, grazie!

Urban Messages Trend Edition has not been a best-selling here (at least not as much as Vampire's Love has), Skyscraper is the only polish I picked from the display (but I admit I was tempted by blue Nightline, too).

It's a nice "greige" with darker particles and interesting light blue shimmers.

Nice to apply, even if it's a little bit sheer; after two coats surface is even, nail line is barely visible, anyway.

Discreet and easy to wear, but not too plain.

La Trend Edition Urban Messages è stata, almeno qui da noi, mediamente ignorata, o per lo meno non ha suscitato il clamore delle altre (tipo la Vampire's Love); è uscita insieme alla NATventURista ma se ne trovano ancora in giro parecchi "residui".

Skyscraper è l'unico colore che ho comprato quando l'ho trovata all'Ovs (ma ero molto tentata dal blu Nightline), un "greige" molto particolare, con delle particelle di colore più scuro e degli interessanti shimmer azzurri.

Abbastanza viscoso ma con una copertura media, dopo due mani si intravede la linea dell'unghia anche se la superficie è uniforme.
Un colore discreto e facile da portare, ma per niente banale!

Here in my area a temporarydisplay appears from time to time (manufacturer is Marabu Cosmetics,same company that released the Emily polishes last year): the products are really cheap so when Ifound the French Affair display last Spring I decided to try top coat 3 in 1, cuticleremover and stickers, here below you'll find my opinion on first two:

ITA Chi ha occasione frequentare i negozi Schlecker avrà visto che oltre alla [b] Basic ogni tanto apparequalche espositore temporaneo Fairwind (prodotto dalla MarabuCosmetics, gli stessi che avevano fatto gli smalti meteora Emilyl'anno scorso).
Quando ho trovato questo French Affair la scorsa primavera non ho resistito (i prodotti costanomolto poco) e mi sono comprata cuticle remover, top coat 3 in 1 estickers, queste sono le mie impressioni sui primi due (si trovano ancora in vendita, di solito mescolati ad altre cose [b] basic):

Cuticle Remover

ENG I'm sorry, it doesn't work. I use itall the same when I push cuticles with wooden stick, but if I reallyneed the excess cuticles to come off, I can't use it. Really a pity!

ITA Mi dispiace ma non funziona. Lo usocomunque giusto per mettere qualcosa sulle cuticole quando le spingoindietro con il bastoncino, ma se devo fare un lavoro serio (cioèproprio rimuovere le cuticole in eccesso) non ci siamo! Peccato!

Top coat 3 in 1 Diamond Shine

ENG It's a basic product that works quitewell, when swatching I use it as base coat. As top coat it is quite shiny, I used italso on nail wraps to make them shrink on nails, as it's the type of top coat that melts polish (see how brush remains polish-stained after having applied it on a purple polish).

ITA Fa il suo dovere, considerando che di solito pergli swatches lo uso come base. Come topcoat è abbastanza lucido, in più, date le sue capacità “dissolventi” (anche sullo smalto, quando si applica su uno smalto il pennello resta sporco, come vedete dalla foto) lo uso anche sui nailwraps per farli accartocciare/aderire.

Hi, I hope your 2012 begun well!!
Yesterday I spent all day relaxing and reading, forcing myself not to press the ON button of my PC :-)
But today I'm back, showing you a polish I found ina Lidl store (for not EU: it's a hard discount chain store) from abrand I never heard before: Arcobaleno. They were really cheap (0,99x 15 ml) so I had to try at least one of them.

There were several colors, mostlybright cremes (and a taupe) but I picked this one, that seemed aquite promising mix of silver and green.

According to label these polishes are“made in Italy” and are Big3Free.

Brush is "old style" round one but polishhas a nice thickness and application is easy and precise. Color ispretty as in bottle, a green with silver microparticles*, that giveit a metallic look. Really pigmented, one coat is enough to achievepictured result!

Only negative aspect I must report isthat when I removed polish (after a couple days) I noticed it stained badly my nails (they were lemonyellow, even if I applied base coat), for sure next time I apply anadditional coat of base polish.

E così siamo arrivate al 2012! Dopo aver lasciato il PC spento ieri (e aver letto tantissimo, un libro e mezzo), oggi mi rimetto al "lavoro" e vi faccio vedere il famigerato smaltodel Lidl di cui avevo tweet-ato, siete pronte?

Ho trovato un espositore di questasconosciuta marca “Arcobaleno” in uno dei cestoni del Lidl e hodovuto prendere almeno un colore, considerando anche il costoirrisorio (0,99€ x 15 ml).

Ho scelto questo, in bottiglia era uninteressante mix di verde e argento (gli altri erano soprattuttocreme di colori vivaci e un taupe). Gli smalti (dall'etichetta) sono “made in Italy” e nonho letto nessuno dei "cattivi" Toluene, Formaldeide, DBP negli ingredienti.

Prova su mano: il pennello è ilclassico tondo ma lo smalto ha una buona consistenza e l'applicazioneè abbastanza agevole e precisa.

Il colore conferma le aspettative,verde con microparticelle argento che gli danno un finish quasimetallizzato*; pigmentatissimo, è stata sufficiente una passata!

Unico neo: nonostante avessi applicatola base mi sono trovata le unghie veramente giallissime quando l'hotolto, la prossima volta proverò ad applicare due passate di base.

Here is a side by side comparison withCollistar #69 I posted about here. Colors are really similar, butCollistar, besides being mat/satin, has more silver in it.

Ecco qui un “fianco a fianco” conil Collistar #69 provato qui: sono molto molto simili ma il Collistar(oltre a essere satinato) è più argentato.

KKCenter HK: French Tip Decals

ENG: Some time ago KKCenterHK contacted me to know if I was interested in reviewing their products. Lately their false eyelashes have been featured in many blogs, but as I'm far from being a make up expert, I asked to try some nail-related items: browsing their site I immediately got catched by these french decals, made to be used just on nail tips and they kindly agreed to send me a couple to review. Here they are:

ITA: Un po' di tempo fa la KKCenterHK mi ha contattata per sapere se volevo provare qualche suo prodotto; loro si stanno facendo conoscere in giro sopratutto per le ciglia finte, che avrete visto su parecchi blog, ma dato che il make up e io siamo semplici conoscenti (di quelli che a volte quando si incontrano fanno finta di non vedersi) ho chiesto di poter testare qualcosa inerente le unghie.Dando un'occhiata al negozio on line sono subito stata attirata dai french decals, fatti per essere usati solo su una parte dell'unghia e loro sono stati così gentili da mandarmi questi due da recensire:

ENG: Here is the first one N.NAIL-WDB078: I'm not sure I chose the right base color (Nude it from Essence), anyway application of these decals is quite easy, but the “top coat” technique (to make decals shrink on nail) requires some extra attention in case tip tends to twist around nail surface (keep an wooden stick close at hand to block it).
Pinkies patterns are opposite-inclined, but it was not my choice: on decals sheet you will notice that all tips but pinkies have same direction, also turns out you can't do a mirror mani.

I really like this kind of decals, they are not “extreme” as nails wraps but create a peculiar manicure. Do you agree?

ITA:Ed ecco la prima prova con le N.NAIL-WDB078:non so se ho scelto un colore di base appropriato (il Nude it della Essence), comunque l'applicazione di questi decals è stata abbastanza agevole, anche se sono lunghi (per le mie unghie) e la mia tecnica di applicare il top coat per farli rattrappire richiede un po' di attenzione perché la parte in eccesso non si rivolti sulla superficie dell'unghia (tenete a portata di mano un bastoncino per bloccarla).
Nota sul mignolo: l'inclinazione del disegno è opposta agli altri, ma è stata una scelta obbligata: nel foglio gli otto decals grandi hanno la stessa direzione, mentre i due mignoli sono al contrario, non mi è chiaro se sia una cosa voluta o meno, comunque le mani non vi verranno speculari.
Mi piace questo tipo di decals, danno un che di particolare alla manicure, pur non essendo estremi come quelli ad unghia intera, che dite?

NOTD: Essence Colour&Go 61 Fame Fatal

Premise: I find the name of this polish quite ludicrous, because in Italian “fame” means “hunger” so the firstthing I think about when I read the label is “fatal hunger” (BTW I justended The Hunger Games – a trilogy I discovered after hearing about China Glaze incoming collection - and I can't wait to start reading the second one "Catching fire".)

Anyway back to the polish: it's a cool toned red, reallypigmented (see 1^st coat picture) and very easy to apply,thanks to flat and wide brush (brush is small so there is no risk of smudges).

After a second coat the color becomesmore intense and very shiny, really pretty!

According to my wheels this color isreally similar to Eyeko Saucy Polish, and as Eyeko discontinued all theirpolishes I'm really happy I found a nice substitute.

Cominciamo con il nome secondo meesilarante di questo smalto: sarà anche un gioco di parole simpaticoin inglese/francese, ma io quando lo leggo penso per prima cosa allafame e il risultato non è così glamorous! A proposito di fame fatale, hoappena finito il primo libro di The Hunger Games (trilogia scoperta grazie alla prossima collezione China Glaze), ottima letturad'evasione, non vedo l'ora di iniziare il secondo (già sul mio fidoKindle, che ormai mi porto sempre dietro – tra un po' leggeròanche in coda alle casse del supermercato)!

Comunque torniamo al prodotto in sé:alla prima passata è un rosso freddo abbastanza chiaro, superpigmentato e splendido da applicare, grazie anche al pennello largo epiatto (però piccolo e flessibile, quindi a zero rischio sbavature).

Con la seconda mano il colore siintensifica, restando lucidissimo anche una volta asciutto. Mi èpiaciuto un sacco, secondo me (e le ruote) assomiglia parecchioall'Eyeko Saucy Polish.
Dato che la Eyeko ha messo fuori produzionetutti gli smalti, sono contenta di aver trovato un degno sostituto(finché dura, la Essence ha un turnover di prodotti pauroso, espesso sono i migliori a sparire!).

NOTD: Catrice Welcome to Las Vegas LE - 02 Alluring Night

Today I show you a polish I recentlybough, probably on a “vampy” day (I purchased three polishes, alldark). This is Alluring Night from Welcome to Las Vegas Limited Edition: it'sa midnight blue with shimmers that in real life are quite hidden(not the green sparkling ones my camera managed to catch – I wasastonished when I saw my pics), perfect in two coats.

Anyway application has been painful, asthe cat tongue stiff brush + polish viscosity made it almostimpossible to apply it with precision, I either had to stay really farfrom cuticles or paint them together with nail (my ring finger showshow difficult it is to clean up after a blue polish).

I'm sorry but I have to say that thistime Catrice brushes really sucked, the one on Drama Queen is evenworse than this (but at least it was soft and more manageable)! Have you experiencedthe same wonky brushes on polishes from this LE, in case you own them?

Oggi vi mostro uno degli ultimiacquisti (frutto di un giorno “vampy”, visto che ne ho compratitre, tutti scuri), il Catrice Alluring Night della Limited EditionWelcome to Las Vegas.

E' un blu notte scuro con deglishimmer che avrei definito abbastanza nascosti: ad occhio nudo nonavevo notato quel luccicare verde che invece la macchina hafotografato (son rimasta a bocca aperta vedendo le foto). E' coprentein due mani MA l'applicazione è stata penosa: il pennello è alingua di gatto, abbastanza rigido e data la viscosità dello smaltoè stato quasi impossibile fare un lavoro pulito: o si stava molto lontanidalle cuticole o si finiva per dipingere anche quelle (il mio anulareè la dimostrazione pratica di come sia rognoso ripulire un eccessodi smalto blu).

Mi dispiace ma devo dire che stavolta ipennelli Catrice fanno davvero schifo: quello del Drama Queen èanche peggio, tutto storto, ma almeno essendo morbido si riesce agestire un po' meglio. Per chi li ha comprati...Ho trovato io illotto sfigato o son tutti così?

Hi! Did you got over Christmas (in case you celebrate it) and consequent huge eating? I'm still recovering and for sure will eat light meals until New Year's Eve :-P.
In the meantime...Here is an Essence polish I swatched a couple months ago; I'm not really satisfied by pictures, October afternoon sunlight was already too weak, but I have so many new things to show you that I know I won't be able to re-swatch it in the short term, please forgive me this time!
The polish is Camouflage, one of new (in October) Essence Colour&Go polishes; in these last batches theyimproved brush and I really like it, wider but not flat, perfect for a quickand clean application.

I so love this color (it gives mea decadent-chic feeling), a brown-green my son called “mysterybrown”, very pigmented and perfect in two coats. Super shiny.

If you are into these “nature”colors, buy it!

Ciao! Sopravvissute a pranzi, cene e parenti natalizi? Io mi sto ancora riprendendo :-P (da qui a Capodanno solo brodini), nel frattempo posto alcune foto fatte tempo fa ad uno degli (allora) nuovi Essence Colour&Go.

Non ero molto soddisfatta degli swatches, la luce pomeridiana di Ottobre era già troppo scarsa, ma son talmente piena di cose nuove da provare che non riuscirei a rifarli in tempi brevi, perdonatemi!

A proposito di questi smaltini, mi piacciono un sacco i loro nuovi pennelli, per me davvero migliorati, più larghi ma non troppo piatti,perfetti per un'applicazione veloce e pulita.

Camouflage è un colore di cui mi sono innamorata appenasteso, lo trovo molto “decadente” ma in modo figo (non so spiegare, mi è uscita così): unverde/marrone indefinibile (marrone mistero, l'ha chiamato miofiglio), molto pigmentato e perfetto in due passate. Lucidissimo.

Se vi piacciono i colori paludosi aggiungetelo alla vostra collezione!

Wednesday pink post! Also this week I madeit :-) phew! *relieved face*
I don't own really many pink polishes, this one arrived here thanks to Candy Coated Tips Halloween giveaway, it's Revlon 051 StarryPink.

It's full of silver glitters (a mix ofhesagonal and small ones) but they are floating in a light lilac/pinkbase so theit sparkle is a little bit softened; polish is fluid buteasy to apply and you can reach a good coverage in two coats, even ifnail line is still visible.

I tried applying also three coats, you can check the different result in my pictures (I prefer the more opaque version).

I liked this polish very much, I alsohave to point out that removal (with my usual system) hasn't beenthat difficult (yay)!

Non ce ne sono moltissimi nei miei cassetti, questo è arrivato qui grazie al giveaway di Candy Coated Tips, si tratta delRevlon 051 Starry Pink.

E' pieno di glitter argento (un mix diesagonali e mini) ma in una base rosa lilla chiarissimo che li smorzaleggermente; consistenza fluida ma gestibile, in due mani si ha uncolore omogeneo, comunque con la linea dell'unghia ancora visibile.

Ho provato a stendere anche trepassate, nelle diverse foto vedete la differenza (ovviamente io preferisco la versione più coprente)!

A me è piaciuto molto e segnalo che larimozione (con il mio solito sistema) non è stata neanche particolarmentefaticosa. Evviva!

YSL #128 Black Indigo [YSL The Black Collection]

Tester polish was super dense, Iapplied just one coat but it was so thick it was worth at least threeof usual ones. Purple with fuchsia shimmer in bottle, really dark onnail.

Dalla boccetta sembrava un viola conshimmer fucsia ma era così denso che la passata che ho steso valevaalmeno tre di quelle normali, ed è venuto molto scuro.

BTW all YSL were a little bit dull...They look much better with top coat!

A proposito, gli YSL erano un pochino spenti, molto più carini dopo una passata di top coat!

Dior 871 Apparat [Les Rouges Or - Christmas 2011]

In the bottle: very interesting burgundy red withdiffuse golden shimmer, quite disappointing on nails (Ifind it pretty ordinary, I expected something more, it's a Dior polish, after all) – tester brush had a weirdly strongcat tongue shape (not really handy).

Questo l'ho swatchato da Sephora, con Ntra commesse, truccatrici e uomini security che mi tenevano d'occhio(avrò avuto l'aria sospetta): bellissimo rosso bordeaux screziato d'oro nellaboccetta, dopo due mani si rivela un rosso secondo me abbastanzabanale; il pennello del tester aveva una forma lingua di gattoabbastanza pronunciata e non particolamente comoda.

Considering prices of these polishes Ijust admired them (my favourite of the bunch is YSL #43 anyway) but I could'tkeep my wallet still; at the beginning of the week Ere Kanezawa informed me that new Catrices Welcome to LasVegas came out (one went already sold out in the meantime) so I managed to buy a couple of them(Drama Queen and Alluring Night) plus After Eight from permanent collection.
PS: today I tried to set Italian and English versions apart using also background color, what do you think about it?

Considerando i prezzi di questi smaltimi sono limitata ad osservarli (il mio preferito è il #43 di YSL) ma non sono riuscita a evitare del tutto gli acquisti: grazie allasoffiata di Ere Kanezawa sapevo che erano usciti i Catrice Welcome to Las Vegas (unonel frattempo era già esaurito), così sono andata a cercarli e ne ho presi due (Drama Queen e Alluring Night), più AfterEight della collezione permanente.

A proposito di nomi strambi Catrice, avevatevisto Beavis and Mud-Head??
PS: oggi esperimento grafico sulla doppia versione italiano inglese...Come vi pare?

[b] Basic EarthLIFEStyle LE - Red Earth

When I bought [b] Basic EarthLIFEStylepolishes it was clear I did it more for the sake of collecting than for polishes themselves, as they didn't seem thatappealing to me, but once I tried them I had to change my mind; after BlackEarth today I'll show you Red Earth.

In the bottle it seemed almost separated but once applied it turned out a warm brown, really creamyand pigmented, a perfect one coater!

A couple days after having swatched it,I tried also Black Earth and as I noticed that second coat made itreally deeper, I decided to try again Red Earth, this time applyingtwo coats: color becomes more intense, just like milk chocolate (pictures at bottom of the post).
A pretty winter color, if you like these shades.

Come si era capito dal primo post relativo a questa collezione avevo comprato glismalti della [b] Basic EarthLIFEStyle più per “collezionismo” (o smalto-mania) che perattrazione verso il contenuto delle boccette e invece mi sono dovuta ricredere unavolta provati i colori: dopo il Black Earth, ecco oggi il Red Earth.

Nella boccetta sembrava quasiscomposto, ma alla prima mano questo smalto si rivela cremoso epigmentato, un bel marroncino caldo perfettamente coprente.

L'hoetichettato come “da una passata", ma qualche giorno dopo, visto come si erascurito il Black Earth alla seconda mano, ho deciso di riprovarlo con due mani: il colore si intensifica e diventa quello del cioccolato al latte. Molto carino, per chi ama questi colori (adatti soprattutto all'inverno, secondo me).

Today's post features an Italian polishby Deborah Milano I found on sale a month ago. I just own few polishes from this brand, usuallybottles cost around 7/8 €, but this one was sold at 3,99€ so Iimmediately grabbed it.
I reallyliked color in bottle, a plum purple with intense light blue/green hues/shimmers.

Unfortunately once on nails it ismostly purple (so I'm happy I didn't paid full price). It appliesvery well and dries quickly (but slightly dull): two coats in mypictures.

Lo smalto di oggi è un Deborah, ne ho veramente pochissimi e questo l'ho trovato in offerta alla Schlecker a3,99€ quindi visto che il colore nella boccetta mi sembravaparticolare, l'ho preso al volo.

Sembrava un viola vinaccia con riflessi/shimmerverdi e blu, bellissimo, ma in realtà una volta steso sulle unghie èsoprattutto viola. Applicazione ottima e asciugatura veloce (anche seavrete notato che non è particolarmente lucido).
Due mani nelle miefoto; tutto sommato non male, ma sono contenta di non averlo compratoa prezzo pieno (7/8 €).

Pink Wednesday NOTD: OPI Make Love...

I was tidying up my pink polishes when I found out thisOPI I bought almost 2 yrs ago; actually it is even older (from Psychedelic Summer collection - Summer 2007).

I've already swatched it last year, but picturesweren't very good so I never posted them (better like that, myfirst swatches weren't that attractive).

Brush is wide (in case you missedmultiple captions on cap) and works really well, even if polish is quiteliquid (but not runny): it took me three coats to obtain an opaquesurface, and still on a couple nails there are uneven areas.

Shade is quite nice, anyway: a supershiny baby pink.

Sistemando i miei smalti rosa chiaro hoscovato questo OPI, uno dei primi che ho comprato, quasi due annifa. In realtà è ancora più vecchio, essendo parte della collezione Psychedelic Summer dell'estate 2007.

L'avevo già swatchato ma il risultatonon era granché e le foto non hanno mai avuto l'onore di finire sulblog (meglio, era uno dei primi swatch).

Il pennello, come evidenzato dallemillemila scritte sul tappo, è largo e agevola molto l'applicazione; lo smaltoperò è abbastanza liquido, anche se non scivola via e sono statenecessarie tre mani per coprire tutte le strisciate (guardando conattenzione l'unghia si vede ancora che la stesura non è uniforme).
Colore comunque carino, un rosa pastello molto molto lucido.

From Brasil with love...[haul]

Last Sunday hubby came back fromanother business trip, this time he was in Brasil and I bet also you have in mind the gorgeous polishes we see thanks to Brazilian bloggers. So you can imagine I've been pressing him a lot about bringing me a couple bottles :-P
He stood there just a couple days, but the last morning he had some free time to drop in at the mall in front of the hotel, so the night before I checked tons of swatches from brazilian bloggers (I really must thank Sarah for helping me with many useful hintson Brazilian brands/shops :* obrigada!!) and finally came up with adetailed list I texted him.

Unfortunately two collections I wasreally lemming (Hits Mundo de Danças and Hits Mari Moon) were notavailable, so he partially followed my list plus did something in his way.

In conclusion: he brought me this bag (it was soheavy I squeaked)!

La scorsa domenica mio marito ètornato da un'altra trasferta lampo, stavolta era in Brasile escommetto che anche a voi, oltre a tutto il resto, sono venuti inmente i magnifici smalti che si vedono sui blog delle ragazzebrasiliane. Immaginerete quindi quanto io lo abbia stressato perché mi portasse a casa almeno qualche boccetta :-P
E' stato lì solo un paio di giorni, ma l'ultima mattina è riuscito a fare un giro al centro commercialedi fronte all'albergo :-) quindi il giorno prima ho fatto le orepiccole (molto piccole) guardando swatches brasiliani (devo ancheringraziare Sarah per tutte le dritte che mi ha dato sui vari marchie negozi :*) e alla fine gli ho mandato un sms chilometrico conuna lista dettagliata degli smalti che mi interessavano.
Sfortunatamente due collezioni che mi piacevano da matti (HitsMari Moon e Mundo de Danças) non c'erano, così lui un po' haseguito la lista, un po' ha fatto di testa sua.

Ed è tornato portandomi questosacchetto (pesanteee)!

I sent him a list of Hits polishes I needed,as five holo pretties I swapped are already on their way, but he ended up buyingall colors he found there. Lucky me, it seems he found almost allshades I didn't chose before.

Gli avevo mandato una listadettagliata degli Hits, perchè 5 di questi piccini sono già in viaggo versol'Italia grazie ad uno swap. Ma lui ha preferito comprare tuttiquelli che ha trovato, e alla fine mi è andata bene, perché sembrache ci fossero proprio solo i colori che non avevo già preso (o quasi)!

I mentioned three polishes of this brand and hefound just one (Reflex, a duochrome), so decided to add some otherpolishes: all darks :-)) and "perolado"=shimmer.

Avevo scelto solo tre colori, ne hatrovato uno (Reflex, un duochrome) così ha deciso di aggiungerealtri colori (tutti scuri) :-)) e "perolado" cioè shimmer.

Milani: 513 Digital

I didn't mention it, as it's a US brandbut he bought me a pink holo, BTW these polishes cost more than twice holo Hits and four/five times Ana Hickmann ones.

Non sapevo ci fosse, visto che è unmarchio Americano, ma mi ha comprato un olografico rosa. Tanto perdire, questi smalti costano il doppio degli holo Hits e cinque volteuno smalto Ana Hickmann.

Risqué: Besouro

Sono tutti nuovi, aperti solo percontrollare il pennello (non si sa mai, ogni tanto la Essence fascherzi) e mai provati, tranne "Hunt me if you can", usato su un'unghia(2 passate) per questa comparazione.
